ABSTRACT: LOADLEVELER NEGOTIATOR HAS MEMORY LEAK

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
LoadL_negotiator has a memory leak. A multi-step job with
dependencies will cause a memory leak if a step is skipped
because a dependency from an earlier step was not satisfied.

PROBLEM SUMMARY:
LoadL_negotiator has a memory leak that can cause it to run
out of memory if it is left running long enough between
restarts.

PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
The code was fixed to free memory more carefully and to
allow more memory to be used.

ABSTRACT: FAILURE TO RESET RESERVE ON 7135 DISKS - HACMP,HAES

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The customer was using Hitachi disks which emulate a 7135 and
when he halted one node, the other node failed on the takeover
attempt when trying to mkdev the original device after having
removed a ghost disk. Error message received was:
Method error (/etc/methods/cfgscarray):
0514-050 Cannot perform the requested function because the
           specified device was not detected.
The problem could be reproduced on 7135 disks as well.

PROBLEM SUMMARY:
The customer was using Hitachi disks which emulate a 7135 and
when he halted one node, the other node failed on the takeover
attempt when trying to mkdev the original device after having

Method error (/etc/methods/cfgscarray):
0514-050 Cannot perform the requested function because the
specified device was not detected.
The problem could be reproduced on 7135 disks as well.

PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
The changes made by defect 293610 were not correct for the
7135 array, which does not support lun resets. This change
corrects that so that target reset is used as it used to and
in addition adds a command to try to open the disk even
if scdiskutil indicates it is not reserved, and if the open
fails it then issues a reset (old code used to always issue
either a reset alone if no reserve reported on disk, or a
reset then setting of a reserve if the disk did have a
reserve on it).

ABSTRACT: NETWORK FAILURE DETECTION ON TMSSA TAKES LONGER THAN NIM SETTING

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The customer was testing the time to fall over when a node
is halted and found that though the tmssa network was set to
detect failure in 6 seconds, it was taking close to 60 seconds
for this network to fail.

PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
The tmssa network module (nim) was changed to use
non-blocking writes so that error retries by the hardware
would not keep the nim from continuing to look for received
data. This change required a change to the Makefile as well
and to read the status of the write at the correct point.
Some additional debug information was also added to
jim_main.c which will provide this information for all
nims.

ABSTRACT: IKE CMD=LIST CANNOT GET TUNNEL INFO

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
When using ike=list, get following error message
"Could not get tunnel from tunnel manager."

PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
This is because there is locking problem in tmd. When tmd

it wouldn't relase the lock if this P2 tunnel was already
deleted.
The lock is relased in this fix.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
When using cldare to move a resource group, the APPLICATION
variable arguments are not passed correctly, which causes

PROBLEM CONCLUSION:

reconfig_resource_release.sh, to export the environment
variables correctly.

PROBLEM SUMMARY:

ABSTRACT: PS2AFP TRANSFORM APPEARS TO HANG OR LOOP AFTER SUBMISSION

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The ps2afp transform in PSF for AIX 2.1.0 can be disabled if
you send a truncated PostScript file to it. The file this
customer sent was exactly 1,000,000 bytes in length, and ended
in the middle of a PostScript page. Subsequent jobs appear to
hang processing, and never RIP.

LOCAL FIX:
Use the ps -ef | grep ps2afpd command to determine the PID
number for the daemon process ps2afpd, and kill the process.
Once you restart the daemon the problem is eliminated. The
daemon is unable to kill the interpreter from the previous
processing of the truncated PostScript file.

ABSTRACT: GATED INCORRECTLY STARTED WHEN A PROCESS NAME HAS THE NAME

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
The applications is IBM Secureway Wireless Gateway 5.1.3.1
which runs a process called wgated. HACMP is checking to see
if gated is running by issuing a ps -ef | grep gated. It finds
wgated, assumes gated should be running and tries to start

LOCAL FIX:
In cl_swap_IP_address, change lines from:
ps -ef|grep gated |grep -v grep 2> /dev/null
to
ps -efo "pid,comm" | grep -w gated 2> /dev/null
and the lines:

ABSTRACT: DARE RESOURCE CHANGE CAUSES CONSOLE MSG: FILE DOES NOT EXIST

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
in HAS, a DARE resource change results in a message appearing
on the console of every node EXCEPT the alphabetically first
node, at the very end of the DARE. The message is
"/usr/sbin/cluster/etc/objrepos/stage: A file or directory in
the path name does not exist." Of course, the SCD should not
exist at the end of a DARE, so this isn't really an error. It
is nonetheless potentially confusing to our users.

PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
The message is produced by logPerror, which sends its message
to both cm.log and the console. A new function, QlogPerror,
was created, to emit messages only to cm.log. Then this
function was used in the offending line instead of logPerror.
