category: Development/Tools

changelog: http://freshmeat.net/projects/sloccount/changelog/
description:
SLOCCount (pronounced "sloc-count") is a suite of programs for counting
physical source lines of code (SLOC) in large software systems (it's a
"software metrics tool" or "software measurement tool"). SLOCCount can
count physical SLOC for a wide number of languages: C, C++, LISP,
shell, Perl, Assembly, TCL, Python, Yacc, Java, Expect, lex, awk,
Objective-C, Ada, Pascal, sed, and Fortran. It can take a large list of
files and automatically categorize their type using a number of
different heuristics, and comes with analysis tools as well. It's been
used to measure entire GNU/Linux distributions, and can be used for
smaller systems too.
changes:
A new tool, "get_sloc_detail", which gives a complete report of every
meaurement result (suitable for export to other tools), has been
created. A "--crossdups" option has been added to break_filelist. From
this and other improvements, SLOCCount should now be able to measure
multi-Gigabyte source code repositories. Some toolnames have been
changed and tools merged to make it easier to package SLOCCount (say
for placement in /usr/local/bin or /usr/bin). The download suffix has
been changed to ".tar.gz" to help some who had trouble getting ".tgz"
files. This release features lots of documentation fixes and
improvements, and lots of cleanup of the files.

XMail is an Internet and intranet mail server featuring an SMTP server,
a POP3 server, a finger server, multiple domains support, mail-only
accounts, SMTP relay checking, RBL/RSS/ORBS and custom spam protection,
SMTP authentication (PLAIN LOGIN CRAM-MD5 and custom), a POP3 account
synchronizer with external POP3 accounts, aliases, custom mail
processing, custom mail filters, mailing lists, remote administration,
custom mail exchangers, logging, and multi-platform code
(Linux/Solaris/NT).
changes:
The SMTP command RSET no longer cleans the authentication status of the
client. MX record resolution has been enhanced. A bugfix was applied to
the MD5 algorithm. A new USER.TAB variable ( for Mailing Lists )
"ListSender" has been added to hide real senders from SMTP protocol. An
RFC conformance bug in SMTP protocol has been fixed that made XMail
accept the MAIL_FROM command even if the HELO ( or EHLO ) command was
not issued. A bug has been fixed in SysExec() in Linux and Solaris
versions that made all external programs to have a bad behaviour or
fail. A bug has also been removed from the Windows version that
results in a failure to resolve MX queries.
