APC was conceived of to provide a way of boosting the performance of
PHP on heavily loaded sites by providing a way for scripts to be cached
in a compiled state, so that the overhead of parsing and compiling can
be almost completely eliminated. There are commercial products which
provide this functionality, but they are neither open-source nor free.
Our goal was to level the playing field by providing an implementation
that allows greater flexibility and is universally accessible.

Dwun is a program which keeps a connection up while there are clients
who wish to be connected and drops it as soon as no such clients
remain. It is primarily for use on a NAT (IP masquerading) gateway with

HTMLPerlSETI uses the SETI::Stats Perl module to gather statistics
about the UNIX SETIhome client and formats them as an HTML table.

The divide by zero error (possible when progress is exactly zero) on
the work unit estimated time to complete formula has been fixed. A
variable typo ($numbsubcols to $numsubcols) in the subcolsize function
has also been fixed. The timeout has been increased by 10 for getting
Berkeley web pages. HTMLPerlSETI now only displays user stats (Credit,
Group, and Rank) once for multiprocessor hosts (that are sorted). The
argument parsing has been changed to be compatible with mod_perl. A
printdebug function has been added. Some configuration data has been
separated into an htmlperlseti.conf file and an htmlperlseti.hosts
file, so upgrading is less cumbersome. SETI::Stats has been patched to
version 1.05pl4 in order to work with bestscore data files with best
scores of zero. Separate patch files have been included for version
1.05 and version 1.05pl3 of SETI::Stats.

the resolver can now be disabled (disable_resolver). The last timestamp
is now init'ed correctly. The process_timer has been fixed to display
the right times. The searchengine grouping has been enhanced. A
segfault in the state code has been fixed, and a charset selector has
been added to the modlogan output (cont_charset, cont_language).

SWIGS is a system for creating hierarchically-organized sets of
thumbnail galleries. Multiple sizes for each image are produced
automatically, and each image can be annotated with a relevant
description, date, photo credit, etc. The image galleries (albums) have
a tree structure, each album possibly containing pictures and/or
additional albums. Each album contains a set of thumbnail pages for the
images, a text-only list of all the images in the album (with
description if available), and a page listing all the sub-albums of the
current album. The HTML output is controlled by templates that can
easily be edited. Convenient navigation links are provided, and a
single page summarizes the tree structure of the whole.

Several bugs have been fixed in swigs.pl. This release has some better
default settings and command line options. The SWIGS Picture
Description Program (PDP) is also now available as a separate download.
The PDP is a Java image browser that provides a simple interface for
creating the image description files used by swigs.pl. The PDP does
image caching, scaling, and predictive loading, which make it a fairly
useful general-purpose image browser.

collection, a small well-integratable JavaScript interpreter, linear
