    [001] - alterMIME 0.1.4 (Default)
      by Paul L Daniels (http://freshmeat.net/users/pldaniels/)
      Sunday, July 1st 2001 03:12

alterMIME is a set of utilities designed to assist in the modification of
MIME-encoded mailpacks often used by Inflex, XaMime, and other
email-scanners. alterMIME can add disclaimers and nullify specified
attachments. alterMIME is part of the commercial XaMime software suite, but
is being offered back to the OpenSource community.

Changes: This release now includes disclaimer insertion support with both
plaintext and HTML portions of the email body, and an attachment
    "replacement" facility.

purpose Perl script for X-Chat. Its main features include auto-away
functions with message logging, announcement of songs playing in XMMS on

    much more.

      Sunday, July 1st 2001 14:45

Audio Time Scaler allows you to speed up or slow down an audio file by a
factor of 2, and still have the speaker appearing to speak at the same
pitch, but simply speaking more quickly or slowly.

Changes: This release has been linked with libsndfile, so it can now read
and write WAV files instead of just raw PCM, and also allows downmixing

    [004] - Catweasel Floppy Read/Write Tools 2.1 (Default)
      by Tim Mann (http://freshmeat.net/users/timmann/)
      Sunday, July 1st 2001 01:58

The Catweasel Floppy Read/Write Tools are software for the Catweasel ISA
universal floppy disk controller. cw2dmk will read several kinds of floppy
disk, some of which ordinary PC controllers have trouble with, and save
them in the DMK disk image format. DMK is a format used by the Unix TRS-80
emulator xtrs and by David Keil's TRS-80 emulator for MS-DOS. cw2dmk does
not just read TRS-80 disks. It can handle (at least) any disk written
using a Western Digital 177x/179x floppy disk controller, a PC-style
NEC765-compatible controller, or a Digital Equipment Corporation RX02
controller. dmk2cw will write any DMK image back to a real floppy disk,
and handles the same kinds of disks as cw2dmk.

Changes: Version 2.0 added dmk2cw to the package, giving the ability to
write floppies as well as reading them. Version 2.1 adds some heuristics to
cw2dmk to produce cleaner output files and autodetect RX02 encoding.

    [005] - cdenc 0.9.4 (Default)
      by Nerijus Baliunas (http://freshmeat.net/users/nerijus/)
      Sunday, July 1st 2001 14:49

cdenc lets you encode whole audio CDs in a special directory which can be
burned on CDROM afterwards. It tries to extract all necessary informations
for the mp3info tags from the CDDB. It also produces HTML files using wish,
including the coverpicture of the disc, tracks.idx files for the sajber
jukebox, long filenames for a conventional player, and bitmaps with the cd
titles for usage with the Yamakawa/Raite MP3 player AV715. cdenc makes it
easy to produce MP3 CDs which work fine with Sajber Jukebox, WinAmp, and
    Yamakawa the same time.

GTK Object Builder (GOB) is a simple preprocessor for easily creating GTK
objects. It reads a class description file with inline C code and produces
.c and .h object files for you. It allows you to easily use all of the

of code needed. In general, the amount of code is about the same as for OO
languages such as Java or C++, but you still have to only use C and you get

    [032] - PyGTK 20010701 (devel (for GTK+ 2.0))
      by James Henstridge (http://freshmeat.net/users/jamesh/)
      Sunday, July 1st 2001 14:53

PyGTK is a set of bindings for the GTK widget set. It provides an object
oriented interface that is slightly higher level than the C one. It
automatically does all the type casting and reference counting that you
would have to do normally with the C API.

Changes: This release has updates to make it work with the latest CVS
version (won't work with the 1.3.6 release of GTK+). Boxed types handling
has been restructured. Crufty code has been removed.

      by Sébastien Godard (http://freshmeat.net/users/godard/)
      Sunday, July 1st 2001 05:22

The sysstat package contains the sar, mpstat, and iostat commands for
Linux. The sar command collects and reports system activity information.
This information can also be saved in a system activity file for future
inspection. The iostat command reports CPU statistics and I/O statistics
for tty devices and disks. The statistics reported by sar concern I/O
transfer rates, paging activity, process-related activites, interrupts,
network activity, memory and swap space utilization, CPU utilization,
kernel activities, and TTY statistics, among others. Both UP and SMP
    machines are fully supported.

Changes: This release includes fixes for files created by the sa2 shell
script being world writable, updates to the sa2.sh shell script to only
remove sa?? and sar?? files, replacing of PAGE_SHIFT with page size

      by Eddie Kohler (http://freshmeat.net/users/eddietwo/)
      Sunday, July 1st 2001 03:01

Real Mah Jongg is a social game that originated in China thousands of years
ago. Four players, named after the four winds, take tiles from a wall in
turn. The best tiles are made of ivory and wood; they click pleasantly when
you knock them together. Computer Solitaire Mah Jongg (xmahjongg being one
of the sillier examples) is nothing like that but it's fun, or it must be,
since there are like 300 shareware versions available for Windows. This one
