The Agenda Desktop lets you run the Agenda's PIM applications on your own
desktop and provides an interface to easily sync the .dat files from the
desktop to the agenda and vice versa. It provides a frontend to connecting

autocutsel automatically updates the two most-used copy/cut & paste buffers
existing in X. Some applications use the Primary Selection buffer (i.e.,
GTK), and some others use the CutBuffer 0 (i.e., VNC). This tool update the
buffers when one of them is modified.

Changes: The following new command line options were added: cutbuffer,
selection, pause, and debug. The bell no longer rings on error, which seems
    to help with VNC connections.

      by Wimpi (http://freshmeat.net/users/wimpi/)
      Sunday, July 15th 2001 14:11

jwma is a Web mail implementation based on the JSP Model 2 architecture. It
builds on standard Java APIs (Java Mail API, Java Server Pages, and Java
Servlet API) and relies on some available open source technologies (Xerces,
Castor, Jakarta-ORO). jwma is designed and implemented for use with an IMAP
server. It allows complete control over the store (creating, deleting, and
moving folders, mailboxes, and messages). It supports MIME messages,
supports text/plain message processing (e.g. making plaintext URLs
"clickable"), and supports automatic sent & read mail archiving. It
features a trash mailbox, includes a small addressbook, allows simple
configuration of its features, and can be used in parallel with other mail
    clients (like Pine or Eudora).

Changes: Major changes were made to the model to support all types of
IMAPd's and to add functionality that was previously cluttered into the
main controller. Major enhancements were made to controllers, including
session handling, exceptions, and dispatching mechanism. An administrative
controller has been added, as well as the beginnings of the future
directory lookup functionality. Support for nested multipart messages has
been added. The design has changed completely, and all available languages
    have been incorporated.

      by Matthias Kiefer (http://freshmeat.net/users/kiefer/)
      Sunday, July 15th 2001 13:31

KBabel is a set of tools for editing and managing PO files created by
gettext. Its main component is a powerful and comfortable PO file editor
which features full navigation capabilities, full editing functionality,
the ability to search for translations in different dictionaries, spell and
syntax checking, showing diffs, and much more. It also includes a "Catalog
Manager", which is a file manager view that provides an overview of PO
files. Last but not least, it includes a standalone dictionary application
which provides the additional capability of accessing KBabel's powerful

Changes: New features include rudimentary support for files containing
plural forms introduced by gettext 0.10.36 and the ability to display the
characters of the file correctly when the encoding differs from the
    language set in the environment.

    [028] - Keepalived for LVS 0.3.5 (Development)
      by Alexandre Cassen (http://freshmeat.net/users/acassen/)
      Sunday, July 15th 2001 16:26

The main goal of the keepalived project is to add a strong and robust
keepalive facility to the Linux Virtual Server project. This project is
written in C with multilayer TCP/IP stack checks. Keepalived implements a
framework based on three family checks: Layer3, Layer4, and Layer5. This
framework gives the daemon the ability to check states of an LVS server
pool. When one of the servers in the LVS server pool goes down, keepalived
informs the Linux kernel via a setsockopt call to remove this server entrie
    from the LVS topology.

Changes: This release is a complete rewrite. A multithreaded framework
using an I/O multiplexer has been added. The signal handling and log event
uses syslog, pidfile handling, a configuration file parser, a SMTP
connector, and IPVS and IPFW wrappers. Support for a NAT mask on IP MASQ
rules has been added. The checkers have been rewritten. A sorry server
    facility has been added.

      by Mark (http://freshmeat.net/users/mujolo/)
      Sunday, July 15th 2001 13:08

Nullcraft Portal Development Kit is a tool for Web developers to quickly
and easily integrate several heterogeneous applications and news sources
together into a multi-page portal layout. It takes advantage of a J2EE
environment, yet still allows web developers to develop and maintain CGI
and other applications. The main display format is via a JSP page that
uses JSP custom tag libraries to generate the dynamic layout. This layout
mechanism uses features from JSP 1.2 spec. The "native" development
environment for backend modules will be Java 2 Servlet/JSP. J2EE security
components will be made available to all applications accessed via the
Portal. News channels can be managed using RDF (RSS) files. Configuration
via XML files or JDBC connection will both be available options. Each
backend component type has it's own Plugin for configuration and

Changes: A collection of Web-based administration pages for configuring
modules has been added. Many concurrency issues were addressed. A role of
'admin' was implemented and is now used by the system for managing Modules,
their Operations, and Components. Boolean/bit SQL types are no longer used

      by Michal Trojnara (http://freshmeat.net/users/mtrojnar/)
      Sunday, July 15th 2001 14:18

The stunnel program is designed to work as an SSL encryption wrapper
between remote client and local (inetd-startable) or remote server. It can
be used to add SSL functionality to commonly used inetd daemons like POP2,
POP3, and IMAP servers without any changes in the programs' code. It will
negotiate an SSL connection using the OpenSSL or SSLeay libraries. It calls
the underlying crypto libraries, so stunnel supports whatever cryptographic
algorithms you compiled into your crypto package.

Changes: A serious bug, which resulted in random transfer() hangs, was
fixed. Separate file descriptors are now used for inetd mode. Foreground
logs are now stamped with time. A new ./configure option,
--with-tcp-wrappers, was added. POP3 protocol client support, NNTP protocol

YATC is a powerful tool to analyze your Apache Web server traffic logs. It
provides many different types of statistics regarding the logs. It is easy
to install and use, written in Java for portability, and is a complete
desktop application. Version 1.3 of the JRE is required.

Changes: Some minor bugs (Focus Listener) in the Configuration Module have
been fixed. The help function is now available offline. You can also use
YATC's built in help function when you are connected to the internet (you
will allways have the latest help topics and FAQs available if you do so).
