About: BBStatus is an IP accounting package, and an SNMP and IP monitoring
tool for Linux. It collects, summarizes, and displays the values from its
database. It can be used for IP accounting (using iptables, you can design
various kinds of accounting filters), SNMP monitoring (collects data
making SNMP requests), IP monitoring (using ping, it stores and summarizes
values like min, avg, max reply time, and packet loss), and client traffic
filtering (using various types of filters). It also provides user based
access so that every user can log in and check the traffic from/through
his/her IP addresses. It requires PostgreSQL, Apache with mod_auth_pgsql,
Perl(Net::SNMP), and RRDTool.

Changes: A small bug fix was made in the monitoring module. Various fixes
were made in the RPM spec file.

About: Darius Tools is a collection of miscellaneous scripts which are
useful for a variety of purposes. They are all designed to be faster and
easier to use than the command line that would normally be required to
accomplish the same task. For example, there are scripts for mass
conversion of WAV files to Ogg files and Ogg files to WAV files, for
converting LaTeX to PostScript and viewing the output in ggv, for creating
image thumbnails, for converting from the Euro to another currency, for
automated updating via FTP and for removing backups recursively. The
Darius Tools are split among several packages according to different

About: Linux is a clone of the Unix kernel, written from scratch by Linus
Torvalds with assistance from a loosely-knit team of hackers across the
Net. It aims towards POSIX and Single UNIX Specification compliance. It
has all the features you would expect in a modern fully-fledged Unix
kernel, including true multitasking, virtual memory, shared libraries,
demand loading, shared copy-on-write executables, proper memory
management, and TCP/IP networking.

Changes: Tons of changes were made in many different areas of the code.
The diff is large, partly because the s390x support got merged into the
s390 port as a 64-bit subset, and the old s390x architecture files thus
became irrelevant. Additionally, a merge with Alan Cox's tree added
support for another architecture, h8300. Lots of dvb updates (digital
video) were made, again through Alan. A major aic79xx driver update was
made.

About: Linux Bandwidth Arbitrator allows beginning-to-advanced network
administrators to control bandwidth. It is designed to be turnkey for any
network in its default configuration; it may not be optimal in the way it
filters for every situation, but you don't have to know anything to get
some immediate benefit. It offers a unique method of controlling data
coming into your network by throttling the "client" requests from your
network which are causing the data to come in in the first place.

Changes: This latest release now allows the user to limit bandwidth by
service. For example, you can now hold your HTTP traffic to be 20 percent

About: The Linux Virtual Server Project is an Open Source project to
cluster many real servers together into a highly available,
high-performance virtual server. The LVS handles connections from clients
and passes them on the the real servers (so-called Layer 4 switching) and
can virtualize almost any TCP or UDP service, like HTTP, HTTPS, NNTP, FTP,
DNS, ssh, POP3, IMAP4, SMTP, etc. It is fully transparent to the client
accessing the virtual service.

Changes: ipvsadm has been updated to version 1.23 so that it can display
the counter of persistent connections by "ipvsadm -Ln --persistent-conn".
A counter of persistent connections per real server has been added. The
overhead ratio of active/inactive connections has been changed from 50 to
256 in the least connection scheduler. The unnecessary Docdir setting in
ipvsadm.spec.in has been removed.

automated, and it only takes about 15 minutes. Best of all, it's all on
one CD.

Changes: New features include Mozilla 1.3, Evolution 1.2.4, and
