Software Development
Software Development :: Bug Tracking
Software Development :: Quality Assurance

About: AccuRev is a fast, powerful, and easy-to-use integrated Version
Control and Issue Tracking tool based on "Streams". Streams are a
combination and superset of branches and labels which are first class
objects instead of being file-by-file attributes. AccuRev records all
merges and patches, so you never have to re-merge the same code. It
supports file and directory renaming and merging, follows a client/server
model, and is transaction-based. It includes an integrated graphical 3-way
diff and merge tool. AccuRev also integrates with Eclipse, the MS SCC API,
Sun Java Studio, any diff/merge tool with a command line interface, and
more.

Changes: The program now supports the definition of Change Packages. Once
a Change Package is defined, it can instantly determine if the change is
in a Branch without having to have the Change Package specifically
associated with that branch. The GUI was given a major makeover and
Eclipse is now supported.

  Wed, Aug 25th 2004 23:09

Communications
Security
System :: Networking

About: CHOWNAT allows two machines behind two different NAT firewalls to
communicate even when there is no port forwarding or DMZ on either of
their routers. It does not require a middle man, proxy, spoofing, or DNS
tricks, and runs as an unprivileged user on both ends. It opens up a
direct tunnel between the two machines, even when both are behind NAT, so
that one can access services such as SSH or a Web server on the other.

Changes: Major bugfixes and performance enhancements were made. Keep-alive
packets to keep the NAT to NAT tunnel open now have 0 bytes of payload and
are only sent when required. Forking is no longer performed, and all data
is handled in a single process. Connection and disconnection handlers were
improved, and multiple consecutive connections from either side of the
tunnel are now handled. A Windows version is now available.

  Wed, Aug 25th 2004 08:45

Desktop Environment :: Gnome
Multimedia :: Graphics :: Editors :: Vector-Based

About: Dia is a program for creating diagrams of all kinds. The current
version can do UML class diagrams, Entity-Relationship modeling, network
diagrams, and much more. The engine is very flexible and dynamically loads
diagram-types from disk. It stores diagrams in an XML format, but can read
and write a number of different formats.

Changes: New additions include highlighting when connecting objects,
connectability between layers, hexagonal grids, several new shape sets
(RDP, KAOS, I*, Jackson, ChemEng), two new renderers (WMF for non-Windows
and Cairo), rounded corners on polylines, persistence of a number of
settings, and a new arrow head. The modification status was improved to
use unod. UML objects were improved with text wrapping and label
positioning. A host of random persistence systems were combined into one.
Fixes were made for memory leaks, a shape compatibility bug, dialog
closing problems, and many smaller bugs.

Multimedia :: Sound/Audio :: Conversion

About: DJWrap is an effort to create an open format for combining several
MPEG audio streams into one, without losing information about the original
files and without disturbing the stream with erroneous or misplaced data.
To this is added MD5 checksumming of each individual substream as well as
an extendable data format which will, to the furthest extent, provide both
backward and forward compatibility. It also supports both DJWrap and
AlbumWrap files, and therefore replaces ALBWtool, which has been
discontinued.

Changes: This version contains updates to the format to make it more
tamper-proof. The library has undergone numerous enhancements to make it
more usable from other programs. The code has also been cleaned up, and
many bugs have been fixed, both old and new.

Desktop Environment :: Gnome
Desktop Environment :: Window Managers :: Applets
Desktop Environment :: Window Managers :: Window Maker :: Applets

About: The goal of the General Applet Interface Library is to give
programmers a simple yet powerful applet interface. This library supports
wmapplet/dockapps, GNOME 2 panel applets, and ROX panel applets. The
applet programmer doesn't have to care about where the applet will be
used, since the library handles that. Over 50% of the code in a dockapp
and a GNOME 2 Panel applet does only one thing, setting up the applet
window. With GAI, this can be reduced to just a few lines of code.

Changes: This release fixes a couple of memory leaks and a few visual
bugs. A couple of new functions that can be interested for applet
developers are added. Perl and PASCAL bindings have also been released.

nodes, and edges, and some fundamental algorithms as building blocks for
more complex graph algorithms. Customized algorithms can be developed by
experienced programmers.

Changes: A bugfix was made for the bidirectional Dijkstra algorithm, so
the result should now be correct. The Visual Studio .NET project files
were adjusted to the latest version of .NET.

About: Web Performance Trainer is a load testing and stress testing tool
for Web servers. Its statistical analysis takes your site's performance
criteria, and determines the number of users your Web site can handle.
Because data is collected at the URL level, it not only identifies slow
Web pages, but identifies the particular part of the Web page that caused
the problem. Web Performance Trainer includes hard-to-find features such
as IP spoofing, client certificates, multiple simultaneous test cases,
authentication, SSL recording and playback, automated analysis, and more.

Software Development :: Quality Assurance

About: Xrefactory is a refactoring browser for Emacs, XEmacs, and jEdit
which provides multiple project support, a source browser, intellisense
code completion, refactorings for safe symbol renaming, parameter
manipulations, function/method extraction, field encapsulation, and the
ability to move fields, methods, classes, etc. It is based on full
pre-processing, parsing, and static analysis of sources. It works for the
C and Java languages, and contains a stand-alone cross referencer, and a
generator for HTML documentation.

Changes: This release contains improvements in generation of HTML
documentation. A fully cross-referenced HTML form is generated faster, and
it produces index pages with a file index, a full inheritance tree, and
indexes of all symbols and classes.

Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Site Management
System :: Archiving :: Mirroring
System :: Archiving :: Packaging

About: Yam builds a local APT/Yum RPM repository from local ISO files,
downloaded updates, and extra packages from 3rd party repositories. It
takes care of setting up the ISO files, downloading the RPMs, configuring
HTTP access, and providing PXE/TFTP resources for remote installations. It
was primarily intended for doing remote network installations of various
distributions from a laptop without the need for CD media or floppies, but
is equally suitable for an organization's centralized update server.

Changes: A fix was made in example httpd conf. A bug which occurred when
having ISO and no os-repo was fixed. Error handling and output
improvements were made. Remote installation of SuSE is now supported. User
keyboard input is now cleanly intercepted.
