About: BIRT is a simple application that allows a large number of images
to be resized in one go. It was created in order to facilitate the
maintenance of an online photo album where each hi-res photo needs a
low-res copy and a thumbnail.

Changes: This is a bugfix release. The primary change is that the JPEG
Quality setting is now only used in the output of JPEG type files.
Previously, the value would be passed to the output function for all file
types, which resulted in lossless file types (such as PNG) being larger
than necessary.

About: DualRpcServer is a Java framework for bidirectional RPC method
calls between a client and server. No RMI stubs or J2EE remote interfaces
are needed. It keeps session state between calls and works great with form
designers such as Jigloo and Eclipse Visual Editor. The Argyle project, a
generic Swing/SWT client for multiple server applications, is built on
DualRpcServer.

Changes: A startup check was added to insure that DualRpcServer and
DualRpcClient cannot be instantiated unless running Java 1.4 or 1.5. Each
jar is now named without the version number. This makes it easier to
update projects with jars from a newer release. Also, each jar now
includes a version.properties file containing the major, minor and patch
level. Shutdown methods were added to DualRpcServer. A demonstration was
also added in the examples.

background selection script, and a script to eject the CD while Feather is
running. udhcpd was replaced with dnsmasq and wmapm with wmacpi, and the
Monkey webserver was updated. The USB boot now only uses USB 1.1, and the

About: FetchYahoo is a Perl script that downloads mail from a Yahoo!
account to a local mail spool. It is meant to replace fetchmail for
people using Yahoo! mail since Yahoo!'s POP service is no longer free. It
downloads messages to a local mail spool, including all parts and
attachments. It then deletes messages unless requested not to. It can
also optionally forward messages to a specified email address and repeat
with a given interval.

Changes: This release improves the robustness of the login process (by
retrying up to 3 times) and adds support for outputting messages to an
IMAP folder. It also updates the .tw and .it localizations.

allows the user to create albums/categories and upload pictures with
titles and comments. The title and comments are stored in files. No
database server is needed. MyPhotoAlbum uses CSS for its web formatting to
have maximum control over its look and feel. It has a main screen that
shows the photo albums. On each album screen, thumbnails with titles and
comments are displayed. Clicking on the thumbnail will display a pop-up
with the picture full-size.

Changes: Multi-language capability was added. Spanish, English, and
Japanese translation are included, and you can add others. Multi-page
support was added, so big albums don't need to load 100+ thumbnails.
Pop-up pics have navigation buttons, so you don't have to close and
re-open each by clicking on them. The admin module is temporarily gone.

About: Qjackctl is a simple Qt application to control the JACK sound
server daemon, specifically for the Linux Audio Desktop infrastructure. It
is written in C++ around the Qt3 toolkit for X11, most exclusively using Qt
Designer. It provides a simple GUI dialog for setting several JACK daemon
parameters, which are properly saved between sessions, and a way to
control of the status of the audio server daemon. With time, this
primordial interface has become richer by including an enhanced patchbay
and connection control features.

Changes: Among minor fixes and enhancements, this release introduces some
cosmetics: a shiny glass effect on the main display, and the patchbay
connection lines may now be optionally drawn as bezier curves. The stop
button behavior has been fixed, avoiding killing the jackd daemon
prematurely and allowing proper cleanup. A new pre-shutdown script option
has been added. The reset option on the context menu is now always
enabled.

About: Qucs is a circuit simulator with a graphical user interface. It

undo/redo functionality, alignment and resizing of paintings. The
subcircuit support has been improved. Rectangle diagrams are able to scale

About: replace provides an easier alternative to sed for replacing one or
more strings with another in one or more text or binary files or from
standard input.

Changes: A new -d flag has been added to specify the temporary directory
for modified files. If the final line of a text file is unterminated, the
program now correctly handles it (i.e. doesn't add a terminator if there's
a string replaced in the line). A crashing issue which occurred if the -A
flag and a binary input file containing one or more null bytes were both
supplied was fixed. The code now correctly deletes any temporary file it
is working with if it is interrupted by CTRL-C. An improved test suite has
been supplied with the source code. Code warnings generated by splint
(Linux lint) have now been fixed.

About: SWIG is a software development tool that connects programs written
in C and C++ with a variety of high-level programming languages. SWIG is
primarily used with common scripting languages such as Perl, Python,
Tcl/Tk, and Ruby, however the list of supported languages also includes

interpreted and compiled Scheme implementations (Guile, MzScheme, Chicken)

Changes: Exception handling was improved. enum support was improved, and a
mapping was made to the built-in Java 1.5 enums and C# enums or to the
typesafe enum pattern for these two languages. Much better STL support and
support for std::wstring, wchar_t, and FILE * were added. Support was added
for Modula3 and Allegro CL. Java and C#'s proxy classes are now nearly 100%
generated from typemaps and/or features. The documentation was improved.
SWIG now additionally provides documentation in the form of a single HTML
page as well as a PDF document. Various other minor improvements and
bugfixes were made.

About: Tapeback is command line software for backing up various parts of
a Linux system. It supports appending multiple backups to a single tape
as well as having a backup span multiple tapes. Its backups are fully
self-contained; no "database" is needed to restore a backup. Restore
point redirection is also easily accomplished without complex editing of
config files or complex commands to enter at the command line. The package
also includes a small kernel patch to facilitate real-time detection of
"drive ready" status. This patch allows tapeback to automatically detect
when a tape is switched in the drive (when end of tape is hit during
backup/restore).

Changes: A major problem in the tape reading and writing routines was
fixed, so they now actually work. taperestore was cleaned up, and it now
looks similar to tapeback. A tape drive identification utility was added.

About: vislog is a set of Perl scripts written to bring virus and spam
detection to a mail server running postfix for smtpd and cyrus-imap for
local delivery. It accepts mail from postfix, sends it to the clamav virus
scanner and spamassassin, and afterwards gives the tagged and scanned mail
to cyrus-imap for local delivery. It has a small Perl script to examine
its own logfile about the found viruses, and generates an HTML overview
about it.

Changes: Handling of the received mail was improved. The code was
shortened by about 4/5, which hopefully increases speed.
