[001] - AEditor 1.9 (1.x)
  by Simon Strandgaard (http://freshmeat.net/users/neoneye/)
  Sun, Sep 5th 2004 19:10

Text Editors
Text Editors :: Integrated Development Environments (IDE)

About: AEditor is a programmer's editor for Windows, Unix, and Mac OS X
that relies on the fox toolkit. It can do syntax coloring of Ruby and C++
files. It's easy to change the color theme. Most things are customizable.
It is written in Ruby and is carefully unit-tested (it has 421 tests). It
is written in only ~5500 lines of code, so it should be easy to grasp and
extend.

Changes: This release adds a CUA keymap so that one can do selections via
shift+arrow keys. Memory consumption has been reduced from 60000 instances
to about 5000 instances (a lot), which has made the editor more responsive.
The long-standing problem with the Escape key that terminated the
application has finally been solved. The configuration system has been
simplified, so its easier to add new options.

just add, edit, and remove your articles as normal and everything else
updates automagically. A links manager for the sidebar and an in-menu
theme switcher were added.

requires the GTK+ and Gtkmm libraries. Ghostscript (gs) must also be
installed.

[014] - GTK Photo Gallery 0.27
  by Jens Wilke (http://freshmeat.net/users/jenswilke/)
  Sun, Sep 5th 2004 19:14

Multimedia :: Graphics :: Presentation
Multimedia :: Graphics :: Viewers

About: GTK Photo Gallery is an album to manage small and medium-sized
photograph collections. It allows quick management by processing multiple
files together. Rotate, delete, move, and manage descriptions can be done
for all files in one directory at once. It is possible to upload pictures
to an online laboratory to order prints. GTK Photo Gallery is implemented
with GTK2-Perl, and due to the lack of a Web server in between, it is much
faster than CGI-based scripts. It uses the same directory structure as (and
can be used together with) My Photo Gallery (a set of CGI scripts).

Changes: This release allows you to create, delete, rename, and move
albums. An Album can be exported/imported to 700 MB parts for easy CD
backup, including a simple HTML index.

(grid-based artificial life) developed by the mathematician John Conway. It
features a highly optimized algorithm for computing generations, a giant

Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Dynamic Content
Software Development :: Libraries :: PHP Classes
Software Development :: Widget Sets

About: Indite is a rich-content editor widget. It is used as a drop-in
replacement for a tag in HTML forms. Indite validates content as the user
types. This ensures that the output is semantically clean, but still
allows the user full preview of the final result. Indite is mainly a
JavaScript (client-side) application, but comes with a PHP class that
encapsulates and simplifies the use of it. Indite works under Internet
Explorer 5.5+ for Windows as well as newer versions of Mozilla. Indite has
different appearences from which to choose.

Changes: Indite has been heavily refactored. The biggest change is that
the editor has been changed into being a plugin for HtmlArea. The main
engine has been optimized a bit. The PHP wrapper has changed. The naming
convention has been changed from underscores_naming to studlyCaps. The
wrapper can also be used with a "clean" HtmlArea (e.g. without the Indite
plugin).

About: Nail is a mail user agent derived from Berkeley Mail 8.1. It is
intended to provide the functionality of the POSIX mailx command with
built-in support for MIME messages, IMAP (including caching and

[041] - SMS Server Tools 1.14.6
  by Stefan Frings (http://freshmeat.net/users/sfrings/)
  Sun, Sep 5th 2004 00:37

write abbreviated numbers in both lists. Sending to short numbers is now
possible by preceding them with an "s".

[044] - Virtual AGC 20040905

Scientific/Engineering
System :: Emulators

About: Virtual AGC is a simulation of the Apollo Guidance Computer (AGC)
used in the Apollo Command Modules and Lunar Modules in 1968-1972. The
project includes an emulated CPU, an emulated display/keyboard (DSKY),
the AGC's original executable binaries and machine-readable
assembly-language source code (Luminary and Colossus), AGC source code
for a CPU validation suite, an AGC assembler, scanned Apollo
documentation, and other elements. The emulated CPU has been designed to
be modular and portable, to facilitate incorporation into spacecraft
simulations such as lunar-lander simulations.

Changes: Colossus build 249 (CM software) is now available in source code
form and can be assembled with the assembler (yaYUL). Several bugs in the
Colossus core-rope have been fixed, and the core-rope is now known to be
100% valid. Virtual AGC now builds and works in Mac OS X Panther. The
digits on the DSKY simulation have been changed to match the true
appearance of digits on the physical DSKY. Searchable text assembly
listings of Luminary/Colossus and NARA Southwest finding aids are now
online.
