Just like writing an article, testing is a skill. While this may come as a
surprise to some people, it is a simple fact. For any system, there are
several possible test cases, and yet, invariably, we have time to run only
a few of them, which in turn are expected to find most of the defects in
the software. We know from experience that this is simply not possible.
Therefore, in order to increase the chances of finding defects, testing
tools may be used. There are numerous testing tools, each with specific
capabilities and test objectives.

About: Active Calendar is a PHP class that generates calendars (month or
year view) as HTML tables (XHTML-Valid). It supports calendar generation
for the years 1971-2037 and can produce static calendars without any links
or calendars with navigation controls, a date picker control, event days
with event URLs, and linkable days (optionally URL or Javascript). The
layout can be configured using CSS, and JavaScript is not required.

Changes: The method enableDayLinks(), which generates linkable calendar
dates, has been modified. The class can now optionally create day links
which call a Javascript function, set by enableDayLinks(), instead of page
URLs. An example script has been added in the package and the documentation
files have been updated.

About: Alvaro's Messenger is a Tcl/Tk client for MSN Messenger. Its
features include multi-language support, smileys, docking support for KDE
3 and GNOME 2 (FreeDesktop compatibility), logging, profiles support,
email notification, customizable sounds, group management, file transfers
with NAT support, and proxy support. Some special features include the
possibility of knowing who has deleted you from his/her list, connecting
"silently" (appearing invisible), and so on.

Changes: A preview picture is now shown when someone sends a file transfer
request. Fixes were made for the extra empty space at the bottom of the
chat window, a non-integer proxy port, a "Contact does not exist"
reconnection issue, problems with the new Snack sound library, and other
bugs. An alert is triggered when Microsoft sends a maintenance message.
The user properties now store whether someone uses Webmessenger, MSN 6, or
MSN 7. Support for plugins was improved. You can now change the default
download location in the "Others" preferences tab. "Save As" on a file
transfer request. Under Mac OS X, the phone number may now be saved in
preferences and some bugs were fixed.

includes a wide selection of block and stream ciphers, public key
algorithms, hash functions, and message authentication codes. It has an

release, has been fixed. The memory allocators have been split up into

About: cutmp3 is a small command line MP3 editor. It lets you select
sections of an MP3 interactively or via a timetable and save them to
separate files without quality loss. Silence and ID3 tag searching are
also possible. For playback it uses mpg123. The program works with VBR

called xcutmp3.

About: DVDKUP makes it easy to produce a DivX backup of a DVD. It analyzes
the DVD, chooses the right title and language, and cuts off black bands.
Through the GUI you can choose the audio bitrate, the language, and the
subtitles. If you choose to use more than one CD, the movie is cut using
chapter informations. It features a TRY button that produces a 10 second
test.

Changes: AC3 support was added. MP3 ABR (Average Bitrate) support was
added. A new user manual was written. Various bugfixes were made. A new
home page was written. The tar archive was made smaller by removing

About: JavaFind is an implementation of the Unix "find" program that
allows Java programs to search for files in a platform-independent way.
It can recursively search for files by regex as well as with many of the

method to perform the find operation. It detects if it's running on a
GNU system and transparently delegates the speed-sensitive work to the

About: sl is a yet another generic linked list library. Instead of
container nodes with pointers to your data, it uses a pointer to the next
item directly in the data structure you want to create lists (or stacks)
of. In addition to significant memory savings, this allows for very fast
push and pop operations since there is no need to allocate or free memory
for the container nodes. It also means that a push can't fail because
memory couldn't be allocated for the container node.

Changes: Tests were cleaned up. A minor bug regarding DLLs on Cygwin was
fixed.

About: Webcomics Collector is a Python script for downloading webcomics.
It is somewhat similar to dailystrips, but with a different approach to
getting the strips. Where dailystrips uses dates to generate URLs or
regexps, with archive download only being possible with generated URLs
(and often not working correctly), collector uses regexps to grab all
URLs, and makes it possible to download archives no matter what naming
scheme the comic uses.

Changes: This version features lots of fixes and code-cleanup, along with
a new archive format and 665 new supported comics (for a total of 937
supported comics). Changes to make it work on Windows have been
implemented.
