About: aKregator is a KDE RSS aggregator. It supports the best known
metaphors from existing aggregators. It also facilitates good integration
with KDE by maintaining an interface similar to Konqueror and KMail.

Changes: This release features improved tabbed browsing, an RSS icon in
Konqueror for convenient addition of auto-detected feeds, and a lot of
bugfixes. Beta7 had some compatibility issues which have been fixed:
akregator and its Kontact plugin work with all KDE versions from KDE 3.2
to CVS HEAD. Translations are finally included, and this release is
available in twenty languages.

About: amaroK is the audio player for KDE. It supports many multimedia
frameworks (like GStreamer, XINE, and aRts) to play music media and

Changes: This release introduced full support for Audioscrobbler, allowing
for transparent submission of currently playing music to the community
site. A 10-band graphic equalizer, MySQL support for the database, and an
automatic song lyric display were also implemented. Playlist loading was
accelerated by making full use of the internal database. The application's
look-and-feel was improved and several usability issues were solved.

wrapper to simplify the use of oggenc, mencoder, and mkv/ogmmerge to

or more AC-3 or Vorbis audio tracks, and a chapters index.

Changes: Sometimes chapter index incorrect values caused an error in file
merging and, consequently, the loss of every file created previously.
Non-root users weren't able to halt the system, even if they were allowed
to do that.

About: Asymptote is powerful script-based vector graphics language for
technical drawing, inspired by MetaPost but with an improved C++-like
syntax. It provides for figures the same high-quality level of typesetting
that LaTeX does for scientific text. It is a programming language as
opposed to just a graphics program, allowing it to exploit the best
features of script (command-driven) and graphical user interface (GUI)
methods. High-level graphics commands are implemented in the language
itself, allowing them to be easily tailored to specific applications.

Changes: This release added layers, a PostScript file include function,
imports that are dynamic by default, a port to FreeBSD, improved embedding
of asymptote commands within LaTeX, a partial replacement for the MetaPost
"whatever" command ("extension", defined in math.asy), and a preliminary
3D graphics module and example. The dynamic keyword was removed from the
language and many small bugs were fixed.

About: The DBMAIL package replaces the normal UNIX mailing system. All
email and user data is stored in a database. You can create an unlimited
number of email accounts, which can be checked using the POP3 or IMAP

scalable, more secure, and faster than traditional mail systems. DBMAIL
has storage drivers for PostgreSQL and MySQL, and it has authentication
drivers for PostgreSQL, MySQL, and LDAP.

Changes: This release fixes some bugs and has some speedups. DBMail now
works with Sylpheed, which it did not before because of a bug in UID
Search handling. Working with Web-based mail systems like Squirrelmail is
better now, because DBMail supports the IMAP SORT command. Speed has
improved by improving database queries and being smarter in database
handling.

does not read the postamble, so it can be started before TeX finishes. It

It does not provide a graphical user interface but compiles on all valid

Changes: The qu(it) command was renamed to ex(it) and pri(ority) was
renamed to op(erators). A "," can now be used as a synonym for a ".".
Problems where 0! resulted in an infinite loop and \w* gave a segmentation
fault were fixed. A ra(scii) command that is the same as as(cii) but works
in reverse was added. A !command for executing a shell command and x\ for
calculating the square root of x were also added.

About: Hardened Debian improves Debian GNU/Linux with high security and
hardening features, hardened kernels and packages, DHKP, and other
security related enhancements. It makes systems more difficult to
compromise using common attacks such as race conditions, chroot jail
escapes, and buffer overflows.

Changes: The 2.6.7-hardened packages are available for Debian Sarge, and
hopefully stable for production environments. The changes are many, mainly
SELinux PaX hooks, an enhanced IPSec stack (using Openswan), grSecurity
2.0.1, a kernel boot commandline to select SEGMEXEC/PAGEEXEC,
/proc/pax_status support, fixes for binfmt_elf loader vulnerabilities and
for all the CAN issues published before this date, Fortuna CSRNG, a
netdev-random patch, and the TCP Stealth patch.

TCP, UDP, and ICMP signatures included in Snort to detect highly suspect
scans for various backdoor programs (e.g. EvilFTP, GirlFriend, SubSeven),
DDoS tools (mstream, shaft), and advanced port scans (syn, fin, Xmas)
which are easily leveraged against a machine via nmap. Psad also uses
packet TTL, IP id, TOS, and TCP window sizes to passively fingerprint the
remote operating system from which scans originate.

Changes: p0f-style passive OS fingerprinting has been added through the
use of the OPT field in iptables log messages (which is only logged
through the use of the --log-tcp-options command line arg to iptables).
There is a bugfix for iptables log messages that include TCP sequence
numbers (see the iptables --log-tcp-sequence command line argument). There
is a bugfix for the O_RDONLY open flag when kmsgsd receives a HUP signal.

About: ShaniXmlParser is an XML/HTML DOM/SAX parser that can be
validating. It can parse badly formed XML files. It can parse files with
inverted tags and bad escaped &,< and >. It expands all HTML entities. It
is well suited to parse HTML files. It is up to 3 times faster than the
internal JDK 1.5 xerces parser and as fast as the internal JDK 1.4 Crimson
parser, compliant with the jaxp/w3c DOM interfaces, and very small.

Changes: A lot of bugs have been fixed. gnu.regexp has been removed (it
was too limited, and JDK 1.4 has very good support for it). The code has
been refactored. A base class, XmlParser, does the parsing and sends
events to a registered handler. As such, there is now a SAX interface.
The XML API is provided (org.w3c.dom.* and org.xml.sax.*). The parser is
compiled with ikvm for Mono/.NET. CSS and DTD parsers are included. The
jaxp API is also included.

open to attack. Viruses may also appear on your computer, weakening your
computer's health points regularly until cleaned.

Changes: Old Linux support is improved. A problem with the scoreboard not
displaying and other problems under various setups have been fixed. This
release will save virus infections. The save file format has changed; you
must erase all save files from your saved game directory or risk a crash.
