[001] - abcm2ps 4.8.4 (Development)
  by Guido Gonzato (http://freshmeat.net/users/goccia/)
  Mon, Dec 13th 2004 03:34

Printing

About: abcm2ps is a package that converts music tunes from ABC format to
PostScript. Based on abc2ps version 1.2.5, it was developed mainly to
print baroque organ scores that have independant voices played on one or
more keyboards, and a pedal-board. It introduces many extensions to the
ABC language that make it suitable for classical music.

Changes: This release fixed a minor bug affecting font changes in W:
lines.

Multimedia :: Sound/Audio :: Conversion

About: The abcMIDI suite consists of programs for turning ABC music files
into MIDI and vice versa, typesetting them as PostScript files, and
manipulate them in several ways.

Changes: In some circumstances, metatext commands output by abc2midi were
interpreted as commands. This bug was corrected in this release.

[003] - Achievo ATK 5.0.7
  by Ivo Jansch (http://freshmeat.net/users/ivoibs/)
  Mon, Dec 13th 2004 14:42

Database :: API
Database :: Front-Ends
Information Management

About: Achievo ATK is an object oriented Web-application framework. It is
targeted at developers who wish to focus on business logic instead of
coding HTML. Where other application frameworks mainly provide a large set
of utility classes, ATK provides a complete framework that requires only
small amounts of code to get usable applications, while maintaining full
flexibility. In other words, even 10 lines of code get you a working
application, but everything that is generated for you can be completely
customized.

Changes: OpenSSL support was added to the encryption API, an
atkFuzzySearchAttribute was added, the keyboard handler can now be turned
off, the CSV import wizard was improved, several template plugins were
added, atkSecureRelation, atkOneToManyRelations, and atkOneToOneRelations
have been improved, several attribute tuning flags were added, the
Norwegian translation was updated, and many bugs were fixed.

About: Andy's Simple PHP Knowledgebase is a database-driven knowledge base
management system. It features bookmark friendly URLs, easy search with
browsing by category, article submission, and a professional and
attractive interface. It is intended to be used to store, manage, and
update article content for a knowledge base, but is very customizable and
enables any number of creative uses.

Changes: This release fixes some bugs with the queries in several scripts.
There are some improvements to the documentation, including changes to both
the Comments table and the Categories table.

Software Development
Software Development :: Build Tools
Software Development :: Interpreters

About: ACDK is a development framework with a similar target of
Microsoft's .NET or Sun's ONE platform, but it uses C++ as a core
implementation language. It implements the standard library packages,
including acdk::lang, acdk::lang::reflect, acdk::util, acdk::io,
acdk::text (including regexpr), acdk::net, acdk::sql, acdk::xml, and more.
Flexible allocator/garbage collection, threading, and Unicode are
implemented in the core of ACDK. Extensions make C++ objects available for
reflection, serialization, aspect-oriented class attributes, and [D]ynamic
[M] ethod [I]nvocation. This DMI acts as an universal object oriented call
interface to connect C++ with scripting languages (Java, Perl, Tcl, Python,
Lisp, Visual Basic, and VBScript) and standard component technologies
(CORBA and COM).

Changes: acdk_xml can now validate XML files, and supports namespaces, DOM
model, and xpath expressions. ACDK literals support Unicode escape
sequences. New ports were implemented for Intel Solaris 9 and 10, VC 8,
GCC 3.4, and the new thread model of Linux. Various bugs have been fixed
in the modules acdk_core, acdk_net, CfgScript, acdk_xml, acdk_sql_odbc,
and acdk_wx.

[010] - Bugzero 3.9.7
  by Samuel Chen (http://freshmeat.net/users/billhen/)
  Mon, Dec 13th 2004 01:25

Communications :: Email
Database :: Front-Ends
Information Management

About: Bugzero is a Web-based bug tracking, defect tracking, issue
tracking, and change management system used in a distributed team
environment to track software bugs, hardware defects, test cases, or any
other issues. It can also be used equally well as a helpdesk customer
support, trouble ticketing, or email management system to collect and
manage customer feedbacks, incidents, requests, and issues. It is easy to
use, but still flexible and adaptive, and can be configured to fit to your
organization's unique business process and workflow.

Changes: A longer Datetime format is now used to work around a potential
display problem in some locales of regional and language. A bug that
incorrectly updated the stored query filter in the last database patch
was fixed. The CSV export was modified to work around an IE SP2 problem.
The submit/save button is now disabled once clicked to prevent double
submission.

[011] - BuildBot 0.6.2
  by Brian Warner (http://freshmeat.net/users/brianwarner/)
  Mon, Dec 13th 2004 03:58

Software Development :: Build Tools
Software Development :: Quality Assurance

About: The BuildBot is a system to automate the compile/test cycle
required by most software projects to validate code changes. It builds
and tests the tree each time a change is committed, providing status
updates through a Web page or other protocols.

Changes: This release improves the behavior of both the buildslave and
buildmaster when the connection between them is lost. The slave will now
terminate any running child processes, while the master will mark the
current BuildStep as having failed rather than let it hang forever. In
addition, it is now possible to interrupt a running build, through both a
Web page button and a command to the IRC status bot.

  Mon, Dec 13th 2004 01:23

Education :: Testing
Software Development
Software Development :: Build Tools

About: Clover makes the gathering and analysis of code coverage metrics as
painless as possible. It features include tight integration with the
Jakarta Ant build tool and accurate, configurable coverage recording. It
gathers Method, Statement, and Branch coverage data. Compile-time
properties and source level directives allow for precise control over the
coverage gathering process. Coverage data can be viewed in XML, HTML, or
via a Swing GUI. Report-time options allow for the exclusion of particular
statement types from coverage analysis. Plugins for the Eclipse, NetBeans,
JDeveloper, JBuilder, and IntelliJ IDEs are provided.

Changes: This release includes many minor bugfixes and improvements,
including better support for Unicode source files, more flexible database
merge, the ability to spawn the Swing viewer from Ant, and improved output
from the console reporter.

[014] - Cornfed SIP User Agent 0.4.12
  by FWMiller (http://freshmeat.net/users/fwmiller/)
  Mon, Dec 13th 2004 01:22

Communications :: Internet Phone
Communications :: Telephony
Multimedia :: Sound/Audio :: Speech

About: The Cornfed SIP User Agent is a Session Initiation Protocol
(SIP)-based Softphone for your x86 Linux systems. It allows you to make
Internet phone calls using an Advanced Linux Sound Architecture (ALSA) or
 Open Sound System (OSS) sound card with speakers and microphone as your
telephone handset.

Changes: This release adds the ability to record the inbound RTP stream
into an 8 KHz sampled .wav file when a call is connected. It converts the
timestamp in outgoing RTP packets from simple sequence values to a
derivation of the system clock, and converts the jitter calculation to
use received timestamps of incoming RTP packets rather than interarrival
times. A bug where Via header line contents inserted into UAC requests
were not recorded was fixed. The usleep() delay was changed to a fixed
time delay using gettimeofday() for .wav playback. The check for a match
between the port in a Request URI to the local port number was removed.

  Mon, Dec 13th 2004 07:02

Communications :: Email
Communications :: Email :: Mail Transport Agents
Communications :: Email :: Post-Office

About: Mailadmin is a little administration interface to the popular Cyrus
mail server daemon. It supports every feature Cyrus provides, and fits in
most MTA configurations. For the sample scripts, Postfix is preferred. A
key feature is the non-standard, generic administration hierarchy which
not only seperates "normal users" from "administrators", but enables the
mailserver-master to create instances between them. You will be able to
let other users create their own sub-users and thus either share a single
mail server between different organizations or project your company's
employee structure.

Changes: An English translation was added. Authentication was improved,
and the newest cyrus options were implemented. Inheritance and
rights-management were added to the interface. Several bugfixes were made.
Some additional options were added.

[017] - Dnsmasq 2.19
  by Simon Kelley (http://freshmeat.net/users/simonkelley/)
  Mon, Dec 13th 2004 14:33

Internet :: Name Service (DNS)

About: Dnsmasq is a lightweight, easy to configure DNS forwarder and DHCP
server. It is designed to provide DNS and (optionally) DHCP to a small
network. It can serve the names of local machines which are not in the
global DNS. The DHCP server integrates with the DNS server and allows
machines with DHCP-allocated addresses to appear in the DNS with names
configured either in each host or in a central configuration file. Dnsmasq
supports static and dynamic DHCP leases and BOOTP for network booting of
diskless machines.

Changes: This release fixes an error at startup on certain IPv6-enabled
Linux kernels. It also fixes bad behaviour with zero-length client-ID DHCP
options, and tightens up checking of DHCP option lengths in general. There
is no need to upgrade from 2.18 unless you encounter either of these
problems, both of which are rare.

[025] - FLTK 1.1.6
  by Dejan Lekic (http://freshmeat.net/users/dlekic/)
  Mon, Dec 13th 2004 01:15

Software Development :: Libraries
Software Development :: Widget Sets

About: FLTK (pronounced "fulltick") is a cross-platform C++ GUI toolkit
for UNIX/Linux (X11), Microsoft Windows, and Mac OS X. It provides modern
GUI functionality without the bloat, and supports 3D graphics via OpenGL
and its built-in GLUT emulation. FLTK is designed to be small and modular
enough to be statically linked, and also works fine as a shared library.
It also includes an excellent UI builder called FLUID that can be used to
create applications in minutes.

Changes: This version adds a Fl::delete_widget() method to safely delete
widgets in callback methods. It fixes a problem where Fl_Double_Window
produced an error on resize with X11 FLUID didn't display menu items
using images properly, an issue where FLUID didn't handle default
function parameters properly, and a problem where FLTK windows could
appear off-screen on X11. The configure script now supports
--disable-localfoo to completely disable image file support. The
scandir() conditional code was fixed for HP-UX 11i. There were some Open
Watcom fixes, and some fixes for the library include order when building
DSOs on MacOS X. fl_xid() no longer causes Win32 applications to crash.

Games/Entertainment :: Puzzle Games

About: Tower Toppler (aka Nebulous) is the reimplementation an old 'jump
and run' game. In this game you have to climb to the top of a tower
avoiding all kinds of creatures that want to push you down.

Changes: This release removed the possibility for the toppler to get stuck
when the elevator fell down and made it possible to not use
internationalization under BeOS. The saving of bonus level option was
fixed. Untested joystick support was added. The build system was updated
and the sound files were moved into the data file. A two tower mission was
added. Sticks in front of doors is now possible, meaning that elevators can
now pass doors.

[104] - X-Plane 8.03 Release-Candidate-1 (Beta)
  by Stanislaw Y. Pusep (http://freshmeat.net/users/stanislaughterer/)
  Mon, Dec 13th 2004 21:05

Education :: Computer Aided Instruction (CAI)
Games/Entertainment
Games/Entertainment :: Simulation

About: X-Plane is a flight simulator that reads in the geometric shape of
any aircraft and then figures out how that aircraft will fly. It does this
via an engineering process called "blade element theory", which involves
breaking the aircraft down into many small elements and then finding the
forces on each little element many times per second. These forces are then
converted into accelerations, which are then integrated to velocities and
positions. This gives X-Plane the most realistic flight model available
for personal computers.

Changes: This release featured new joystick axis selection that made it
possible to look around in the 3D cockpits and gave access to more
joystick axes on more sticks and yokes. There was also a scenery upgrade
with many more types of buildings and more detailed buildings.
