Other/Nonlisted Topic
Software Development
Software Development :: Build Tools

About: AutoGen is a tool designed for generating program files that
contain repetitive text with varied substitutions. Its goal is to simplify
the maintenance of programs that contain large amounts of repetitious text.
This is especially valuable if there are several blocks of such text that
must be kept synchronized. Output is specified with a Scheme-enhanced
output template. Input, if required by your template, may come from
AutoGen definitions, CGI data, or XML files.

Changes: The FSF address has been updated in the "gpl" and "lgpl"
functions. A new release of AutoOpts is incorporated.

Software Development
Software Development :: Code Generators
Software Development :: Libraries

About: AutoOpts is an integrated part of AutoGen. Based on a very simple
option description file, it will process configuration files, environment
variables, command line options, text strings passed by client programs,
and will make the results easily accessible to the client program. It will
also produce a man page and the info-doc invoking section automatically.

Changes: The "libopts" tear-off library now has a "bootstrap" script that
will convert it into a fully configure and buildable project. You must
have the autotools development suite to do this. The released
"libopts-25.1.0.tar.gz" file is now a buildable project.

Internet
Internet :: Proxy Servers
Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Site Management

About: BalanceNG is a modern software IP load balancing solution. It is
small, fast, and easy to use and setup. It offers session persistence,
different distribution methods (Round Robin, Random, Hash, and Least
Resource) and a customizable UDP health check agent in source code. It
supports VRRP (Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol) to set up high
availability configurations on multiple nodes. It integrates pcap packet
dumping for debugging purposes and allows the implementation of a
"transparent forensic logging bridge". It supports "all service load
balancing" based on client IP address which allows almost any protocol to
be supported.

Changes: A bug concerning gratuitous ARP sending was fixed. The
interactive line buffer size was increased to allow cut and paste
operations.

Information Management :: Document Repositories
Information Management :: Issue Tracking
Information Management :: Workflow Frameworks

About: CRM-CTT allows you to create entities to which you can attach
files, place alerts, prioritize, etc. It is multi-lingual and
customizable. It can be used for any department in which something comes
in, must be handled, and goes out, such as bug tracking, systems
management (including assets) or helpdesk call tracking. It creates
management information and exports in PDF and Excel, and reports and
invoices in RTF format. Installation is done using a simple script, and a
clear manual is included. It's available in all major languages.

Changes: This version supports adding and appending email messages from
any POP3 mailbox to an entity, both system-wide and personal. A trigger
was added to also send email when a due date is reached. The
administrator can create custom navigation tabs linking to any URL within
or outside CRM- CTT. The invoice routine has had a makeover, and adjusting
the status, priority, or due date by limited can be disabled.

Internet
Security
System :: Networking :: Firewalls

About: Frankenwall is a bash shell script intended to create a highly
secure IPTables based Linux firewall/router with QOS/traffic
shaping/bandwidth management. Be certain you know exactly what your
network needs before using it. The primary focus of this project is
security through an intimate understanding of your networking
requirements. All configuration is done by editing text files.

Changes: This release allows for multiple alternate configuration
directories to Frankenwall and the install script. A new control option
called "spawn" has been added. When invoked with the "spawn" option, a
new configuration file (spawn_net.conf) is parsed for the network
information used to build the rules. This allows Frankenwall to output
fully functional iptables scripts for use on some other system with a
completely different network configuration.

Desktop Environment :: Window Managers :: Window Maker :: Applets

About: The goal of the General Applet Interface Library is to give
programmers a simple yet powerful applet interface. This library supports
wmapplet/dockapps, GNOME 2 panel applets, and ROX panel applets. The
applet programmer doesn't have to care about where the applet will be
used, since the library handles that. Over 50% of the code in a dockapp
and a GNOME 2 Panel applet does only one thing, setting up the applet
window. With GAI, this can be reduced to just a few lines of code.

Gnome Panel.

columns, is scalable, and can also act as a non-data-aware widget. Buttons
may contain icons, and a date widget has been added. Many scripting API
improvements were made. Many bugs were fixed.

[031] - Jackbeat 0.5.2
  by Olivier Guilyardi (http://freshmeat.net/users/ojaii/)
  Sun, Jun 26th 2005 15:49

Multimedia :: Sound/Audio :: Editors

About: Jackbeat is an audio sequencer with support for the JACK Audio
Connection Kit. Featuring a drum-machine-like interface, it is designed
with real-time operation in mind: while playing, the pattern can be
edited, the BPM rate modified, and new samples loaded. The number of
tracks and beats is virtually unlimited, and though it is simple, it
becomes a powerful tool when connected to other JACK applications
providing mastering, effects plugins, etc.

Changes: A bug that forbade jab files containing empty tracks to load has
been fixed. The helpful segfault handler is unfortunately not very
portable; it has caused troubles on the PowerPC and is now only included
when compiling on the i386 platform. The current graphical animation,
which is heavy due to a design problem, now gets refreshed at a much
lower rate as a CPU-friendly workaround.

About: rxvt-unicode is a clone of the well known terminal emulator rxvt,
modified to store text in Unicode (either UCS-2 or UCS-4) and to use
locale-correct input and output. It also supports mixing multiple fonts at

Changes: This release is a pure bugfix release. The Xft backend was
reworked to work more correctly and even more slowly (only rarely,
though). Too high/too wide characters are avoided more aggressively, too
wide characters near the end-of-line will be wrapped into the next line
