[001] - Anyterm 1.1.5 (Development)
  by Phil Endecott (http://freshmeat.net/users/endecotp/)
  Sat, Sep 3rd 2005 13:40

Communications :: WAP
Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Dynamic Content
Terminals :: Terminal Emulators/X Terminals

About: Anyterm provides a terminal emulator on a Web page using Javascript
and an Apache module. The module forks a shell and communicates with the
script using XMLHTTP on port 80, or securely using SSL. This provides you
with shell access to your machine from almost any Web browser, even when
firewalls are in the way. Experimental support for WAP browsers is
included, and the my.anyterm.org service provides access without the need
to install anything on your servers.

Changes: This version adds a standalone Anyterm daemon which runs
independently of Apache. This could be useful in applications where Apache
is not otherwise needed, and could also be used where it is undesirable for
Anyterm to be dependent on Apache. This new functionality is experimental:
most users should continue to use the Apache module, which is unchanged in
this release. Most users should not upgrade.

About: GLPI is an information resource manager with an administration
interface. You can use it to build a database with an inventory for your
company (computers, software, printers, etc.). It has functions to make
the daily life of the administrators easier, including a job/request
tracking system with mail notification and methods to build a database
with basic information about your network topology. It provides a precise
inventory of all the technical resources (all their characteristics are
stored in a database) and management and history of the maintenance
actions and the bound procedures. It is dynamic and is directly connected
to the users, who can post requests to the technicians.

  Sat, Sep 3rd 2005 12:38

Scientific/Engineering :: Mathematics
Software Development :: Libraries

About: GluCat is a library of template classes which model the universal
Clifford algebras over the real or complex fields, with arbitrary
dimension and arbitrary signature. Technically, what GluCat implements is
a model of each Clifford algebra corresponding to each non-degenerate
quadratic form up to a maximum set by the user. GluCat classes are
designed to be used as template parameters for other template libraries,
such as Blitz++, deal.II, Matrix Template Library, and POOMA.

Changes: This version continues to track changes in g++ and Boost. The
code is now even closer to Standard C++, and is a little cleaner. This
version requires Boost 1.31.0, 1.33.0, or later.

  Sat, Sep 3rd 2005 12:36

Scientific/Engineering
System :: Clustering/Distributed Networks

About: Pyslice provides utility functions for parametric modeling. It
creates data sets based on a configuration file and a series of template
files, then runs a model against each data set. It tracks each model's
progress, keeping the total number of concurrent model runs under a limit
established by the user. It is useful for running many model runs on a
Beowulf cluster, or for control of the model runs on single processor
machines. It can also monitor the model runs through an internal queue,
or place the modeling jobs into a queue managed by other software. It is
written in Python.

Changes: Threads are now used rather than os.fork and os.exec, which means
that pyslice.py should be able to run on Windows, though this has not been
tested. A bunch of code required by the os.fork and os.exec was
eliminated, which should make pyslice.py easier to maintain.

[031] - Sdictionary 1.6.2 (Symbian)
  by Alexey Semenov (http://freshmeat.net/users/swajj/)
  Sat, Sep 3rd 2005 12:38

About: PTkSdict is a dictionary using Sdict dictionary format. Unlike
ptkdic or gtkdic, MySQL isn't needed; you can work with dictionary files
directly. It uses Unicode, meaning that words and articles all are in
UTF-8. There are two index levels, compression, and tools to convert from
text files to .dct and vice versa.

Changes: The width of the word-list can be changed on the fly. Logic was
changed in full-screen mode. Article zoom was implemented. Article
position in the dictionary is now saved upon exit. A lot of bugfixes were
made.

Office/Business :: Groupware
Software Development :: Bug Tracking

About: Streber is a Web-based project management tool. Freelancers and
small teams can easily use it to set up projects and keep track of tasks,
issues, bugs, efforts, etc. Project user rights can be adjusted (e.g., to
provide clients a limited view of the current project state).

Changes: A project may be duplicated, including all sub-items. This
actually enables the use of templates. A Person can be listed with
accounts. Installation can now upgrade versions 0.044 and later.
print_style was added. A bug with doubly assigning people if the current
user is an admin but not in the team was fixed. A problem with
company-names not wrapping in project-overview was fixed. The correct
toggle-buttons were added to blocks. A bug with overwriting nickname was
fixed.

[035] - webcheck 1.9.4
  by Arthur (http://freshmeat.net/users/tiearthur/)
  Sat, Sep 3rd 2005 13:10

Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Site Management :: Link Checking

About: webcheck is a Web site checking tool for Web masters. It crawls a
given Web site and generates a number of reports. The whole system is
pluggable, allowing extra reports and checks to be added easily. It
supports retrieving Web sites over HTTP, file, and FTP protocols and
produces reports on site structure, broken links, old Web pages, overviews
of external links, and more. The links that webcheck considers external are
configurable through regular expressions, and webcheck honors robots.txt.

Changes: Found problems are now split into link problems and page
problems. Some minor improvements to the layout were made: more
information is gathered, CSS is parsed, and redirect loops are detected.
Command-line handling was improved, and also supports normal file paths
instead of file: URLs. Error handling is also nicer.
