[035] - launch4j 2.1.0
  by Grzegorz Kowal (http://freshmeat.net/users/grzegok/)
  Wed, Jan 11th 2006 03:30

Software Development :: Build Tools
System :: Software Distribution Tools

About: Launch4j is a cross-platform tool for wrapping Java applications
distributed as jars in Windows native executables. The executable can be
configured to search for a certain JRE version or use a bundled one, and
it's possible to set runtime options, like the initial/max heap size. The
wrapper also provides better user experience through an application icon,
a native pre-JRE splash screen, a custom process name, and a Java download
page in case the appropriate JRE cannot be found. The increase in size of
the application is small.

Changes: The header was reduced to 18 KB. Launcher mode was added, so now
you can choose to not wrap the jar. The Web site, docs, and program
messages were translated to Spanish. The JRE's bin directory is now
appended to the PATH environment variable. Special variables EXEDIR and
EXEFILE that hold the executable's directory and full path were added.
This version supports mapping environment variables to system properties.
A debug launching mode was added to display various information before
starting the application. A JRE version checking bug was fixed. Quotes in
jar/JVM arguments are now handled correctly.

network devices. It uses algorithms that dynamically discover event
relationships across diverse domains of machine data and build a
searchable Web of events to trace the real behavior of running systems. A
Splunk server can optionally work with Splunk.com, allowing users in
different organizations to participate in a global troubleshooting
community and share knowledge about common events and problems while
preserving data privacy.

Changes: All ports can be now be set during installation. Users can set a
database location during installation. Solaris search core dump has been
fixed. Hostregex extraction is now working. Fifo input processors are now
working, and there are other minor bugfixes.

Database
Information Management :: Records Management

About: SportsTracker is an application for recording sporting activities.
It is not bound to a specific kind of sport, as categories can be created
for all sport types that are endurance related, such as cycling or
running. The main advantages are a good overview of the exercises and
easy creation of statistics for specific time ranges and sport types.
Users of heart rate monitors can organize the recorded data by attaching
them to the exercise entries.

Changes: The calendar displays an additional column for the weekly
summary. All XML data files are using UTF-8 encoding now, so more locales
are supported. A Czech translation has been added.

[064] - Stunnix Advanced Web Server 1.1
  by Stunnix (http://freshmeat.net/users/stunnix/)
  Wed, Jan 11th 2006 14:35

Information Management :: Document Repositories
Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: HTTP Servers
Software Development :: User Interfaces

About: Stunnix Advanced Web Server is a Web server for putting Web sites
onto CDROMs, DVDs, FlashDisks, and other readonly media to be used on any
typical system. Sites can be scripted with PHP or Perl and can be driven
by MySQL or SQLite databases. All required software programs are designed
to reside on the CDROM to avoid the need to install software on the user's
computer. The Web serving core is based on Apache 1.3.x, and has additional
functionality to detect and use free ports, automatically start a browser
on each platform, and to stop the Web server once a resource with a
special name is visited. Desktop applications can also be created with it.

Changes: This release adds support for starting user-specified programs
from the same CD-ROM or DVD or flash drive as the Web server itself,
before and after starting the browser, and stopping those programs when
the server stops. It adds support for MSIE in kiosk mode. It has greatly
improved tracing. The PHP extensions 'iconv', 'domxml', and 'mbstring'
have been added. Paths for searching for dynamic libraries are properly
dealt with on all platforms. Incompatibility with various Linux
distributions has been fixed.

  Wed, Jan 11th 2006 04:44

Software Development :: Version Control
Text Processing :: Markup :: TeX/LaTeX

About: svninfo is used to extract the revision and file information
provided by the Subversion revision control system. To present the
version information of a document, one needs to extract it from some kind
of text inserted by the revision control system. Subversion offers
therefore the Id keyword, which is expanded by the Subversion update
command and contains a lot of useful information. This information is
made available through this package.

Changes: The "\svnKeyword" command was added for defining and using
arbitrary svn keywords, such as $Author:$ or $Date:$. The support for
LaTeX2HTML was removed.
