About: This driver allows the Linux kernel to use the ATA over Ethernet
(AoE) network protocol. Using AoE, a Linux system can use AoE block
devices like EtherDrive (R) storage blades. The block devices appear as
local device nodes (e.g. /dev/etherd/e0.0).

Changes: The timer for a new AoE device is now activated only once.

About: BitEvolution is an easy-to-use client/server application that you
can use to keep your distributed application up to date. Modeled after the
Apache ANT project, it is a task-based application intended to eliminate
the work required to write, test, and debug a home-grown update
application. Your distributed application does not have to be written in
Java to take advantage of BitEvolution.

Changes: A new feature was added to the Client application to allow it to
start a specified application when an update check is complete. A new
attribute was added to the client properties file, which indicates if the
client should run in silent mode. Updater.getCurrentVersion() and
Updater.setTimoutDuration(int) were added. The Updater class was updated
to request multiple file "chunks" at a time. An issue where files
specified in an update_file task that did not exist were not being
reported as not existing at server startup was fixed.

Security Do Not Intrude Registry solution. It enables clients to easily
submit opt-out requests to spammers. Opt-out requests are published by

About: Citadel is an advanced messaging and collaboration system for
groupware and BBS applications. Users can connect to Citadel using any
telnet, WWW, or client software. Among the features supported are public
and private message bases (rooms), electronic mail, real-time chat,
paging, shared calendaring, address books, mailing lists, and more. Unlike
other collaboration servers, Citadel provides its own data stores and is
therefore extremely easy to install; you don't have to "bring your own"
email and database because they're built in. The server is multithreaded
and scalable. In addition, SMTP, IMAP, and POP3 servers are built-in for
easy connection to Internet mail. Citadel is both robust and mature; it
has been in production since 1987.

Changes: This release introduces message journaling, an important feature
that allows all messages and other communications to be recorded to a

About: CoaSim is a tool for simulating the coalescent process with
recombination and gene conversion under the assumption of exponential
population growth. It efficiently constructs the ancestral recombination
graph for a given number of individuals and uses this to simulate samples
of SNP and micro satellite haplotypes/genotypes. The generated sample can
afterwards be separated in cases and controls, depending on the states of
selected individual markers. The tool can accordingly also be used to
construct cases and control data sets for association studies.

Changes: Multi-marker disease models are now also available for phased
genotype data.

About: Conary is a distributed software management system for Linux
distributions. It replaces traditional package management solutions (such
as RPM and dpkg) with one designed to enable loose collaboration across

module Data::FormValidator over to JavaScript, using the same input
profiles. They can be dumped into JavaScript objects using the Perl module

code. Frontend JavaScript validation may be done, allowing for consistent
and thorough validation on both the backend and frontend. The results are

About: Dar is a shell command that makes backup of a directory tree and
files. Its features include splitting archives over several files, CDs,
ZIPs, or floppies, compression, full or differential backups, proper
saving and restoration of hard links and extended attributes, remote
backup using pipes and external command (such as ssh), and rearrangement
of the "slices" of an existing archive. It can now run commands between
slices, encrypt archives, and quickly retrieve individual files from
differential and full backups. Dar also has external GUI like kdar for
Linux, thanks to the well documented API.

Changes: This release fixes few bugs, like a display problem in dar_cp and
an unwanted slice removal in dry-run execution mode.

About: ELOG Electronic Web Logbook is an electronic logbook with a Web
interface. It can be used to maintain personal or shared logbooks, with

based on the classes. The ELOG server is a small stand-alone C program,

About: FRET is a commandline tool for developers that analyzes and
compares multiple files of a similar format. It prints a table describing
the layout of the data structures in these files. Its goal is to document
the format of undocumented file formats. It uses no specific file format
information, but uses heuristics and statistics, and is designed to
integrate with hex editors and packet filters.

Changes: New --phase and --scan options were added, which allow specific
tests to be performed. The results list was made clearer, and some
internal redesign streamlined the code.

About: ipod-encoder is a command line tool for convenient encoding of
video files for use on iPod video. It uses the ffmpeg tool for the actual
encoding. It features recursive encoding of all files in a directory, and
generating a podcast.xml file for convenient use in iTunes. It can be used
in a cron job that periodically checks directories for new files and
encodes them without user intervention.

Changes: Only uses the '-e' option for processing directories. The default
ipod extension is now _ipod.mp4 for Windows compatibility. The README file
has been extended with information on the .ipod-encoder settings file. The
program no longer crashes when HOME is not set on Windows. --width and
--height parameters have been added.

About: log4sh is a logging framework for shell scripts that works similar
to the other wonderful logging products available from the Apache Software
Foundataion (eg. log4j, log4perl). Although not as powerful as the others,
it can make the task of adding advanced logging to shell scripts easier,
and has much more power than just using simple "echo" commands throughout.
In addition, it can be configured from a properties file so that scripts in
a production environment do not need to be altered to change the amount of
logging they produce.
