[001] - A Simple Version Control System 0.8.8-2
by Craig Spurrier (http://freshmeat.net/users/cspurrier/)
Mon, Jan 30th 2006 11:39
Software Development
Software Development :: Version Control
About: A Simple Version Control System is an easy to install and easy to
to use version/revision control system. It differs from most other version
control systems in that it is designed to keep track of files in place. It
does not allow any changes to be made to files; all changes require the
users to change files externally with FTP or SSH access. It is very easy
to set up and use. Users do not need to work with repository, branches,
commit, and check-out files. All a user needs to do is upload the changes
files and click Update, or if enabled, just wait for it to be updated
automatically.
Changes: Fixes a bug in adddir.php that was giving a false "no directory
selected" error.

[002] - abcm2ps 4.12.6 (Development)
by Guido Gonzato (http://freshmeat.net/users/goccia/)
Mon, Jan 30th 2006 07:22
Printing
About: abcm2ps is a package that converts music tunes from ABC format to
PostScript. Based on abc2ps version 1.2.5, it was developed mainly to
print baroque organ scores that have independant voices played on one or
more keyboards, and a pedal-board. It introduces many extensions to the
ABC language that make it suitable for classical music.
Changes: abcm2ps now handles included EPS files of any size. The new
decoration !rbstop! was added. "none" can be used as an explicit list of
accidentals in K:.

[003] - Active Calendar 1.1.0

Mon, Jan 30th 2006 12:17
Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Dynamic Content :: CGI Tools/Libraries
Office/Business :: Scheduling
Software Development :: Libraries :: PHP Classes
About: Active Calendar is a PHP class that generates calendars (month or
year view) as HTML tables (XHTML-Valid). It can produce static calendars
without any links or calendars with navigation controls, a date picker
control, event days and content with event URLs, and linkable days
(optionally URL or Javascript). The layout can be configured using CSS,
and JavaScript is not required. The supported dates (on systems using a
32-bit signed integer Unix time_t) are: 1902-2037 (Unix) and 1971-2037
(Windows), when using the default PHP native date functions, and 100-3000
and later, when using the ADOdb Date Library.
Changes: A new public method enableWeekNum() has been added. A week number
column can optionally be created in the month and year calendars. The week
numbers can be optionally linked. This method can be used only if using
PHP a version greater than 4.1.0, and is not supported by the ADOdb Date
Library. A new public method setFirstWeekDay() has been added to specify
the first day of the week (Sunday or Monday). The structure of the
download package has been updated, and more examples have been added.

About: The Advanced Linux Sound Architecture is composed of several parts.
The first is a fully modularized sound driver which supports module
autoloading, devfs, isapnp autoconfiguration, and gives complete access to
analog audio, digital audio, control, mixer, synthesizer, DSP, MIDI, and
timer components of audio hardware. It also includes a fully-featured
kernel-level sequencer, a full compatibility layer for OSS/Free
applications, an object-oriented C library which covers and enhances the
ALSA kernel driver functionality for applications (client/server, plugins,
PCM sharing/multiplexing, PCM metering, etc.), an interactive configuration
program for the driver, and some simple utilities for basic management.
Changes: Handling of temporary files was improved. Compilation on newer
kernel versions was fixed. Numerous bugfixes were made.

[005] - American Express Expense Report to QIF Converter 1.0
by Dax Kelson (http://freshmeat.net/users/daxkelson/)
Mon, Jan 30th 2006 21:45
Office/Business :: Financial :: Accounting
About: American Express Expense Report to QIF Converter is a utility that
converts American Express expense reports into QIF. While American Express
provides QIF files, it is useful because expense reports go back two years
instead of six months given in the QIF files and because the expense
report categorizes each transaction with a "Merchant Category" and
"Subcategory". The QIF files also do not indicate which credit card in a
multi-card account performed the transaction. The converter inserts the
card owner and last five digits of the credit card in the memo field,
applies user defined rules to transactions, and sanitizes and cleans up
vendor names.

[019] - Common Configuration Parser 0.4.0
by Eskild Hustvedt (http://freshmeat.net/users/ZeroDogg/)
Mon, Jan 30th 2006 14:49
Software Development
System :: Systems Administration
Text Processing :: Filters
About: Common Configuration Parser (CCP) is a program that reads
configuration files and upgrades them. It takes an oldfile (typically the
configuration file currently in use) and a newfile (typically the default
new configuration file) and optionally a template (a file that describes
how the generated configuration file should look) and merges the files
into one, creating a new configuration file that has the changes made to
the old file in addition to the new options included in the new file. It
is completely independent of the program that created the configuration
file, and can be used for many different purposes such as merging changes
between an old user-edited configuration file and a .rpmnew file generated
by RPM during upgrades.
Changes: This release adds support for different --types. It adds support
for ini-files. --paranoid, --noorphans, and --no-uncomment have been
deprecated by --set ParanoidMode, --set NoOrphans, and --set
NoTemplateUncommenting. Minor changes to the --bug output. A bug that
could cause certain options not to work in autogenerated templates has
been fixed.

About: Enhydra XMLC radically simplifies Web development by cleanly
separating presentation from code. Enhydra XMLC parses an HTML file and
creates a Java object that enables an application to change the HTML
file's content at runtime, without regard for its formatting.
Changes: Better character encoding detection, along with proper detection,
and handling, of BOM markers. HTML/Lazy/XHTML DOMs have been synced with
the latest HTML DOM Impl sources from Xerces2, and the XHTML DOM is
compatible with existing HTML DOM usage. A FIXME item has been addressed.
BaseCmdOptions have been removed. Generated classes and interfaces now
have no more imports than necessary. Warnings in Eclipse 3.1 have been
reduced. This release has been updated to ASM-2.2.1.

Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Dynamic Content
About: IkeWiki is a new kind of Wiki (a so-called "Semantic Wiki")
developed by Salzburg Research that allows users to collaboratively
annotate pages and links between pages with semantic annotations. Such
annotations are useful because they give machines a certain amount of
"understanding" of the content that goes beyond merely displaying the
page. This information can then, for example, be used for context-specific
presentation of pages, advanced querying, consistency verification, or
drawing conclusions. It currently only works properly with Mozilla Firefox
and Opera (partly).
Changes: The link type interface has been redesigned. Untyped links are

is an initial framework for metadata versioning, as well as some parser
enhancements.

About: JGraph is a free, mature, and robust Java Graphing framework that
fully complies with Swing design principles. It contains all the graph
visualization and interaction functionality you might expect in a graph
library, including multiple views, layering, zoom, drag and drop, undo,
automatic expanding and collapsing, routing, and layouts. You can create
stunning workflow editors, call graphs, CAD tools, network diagrams,
database visualization tools, and more. It can also be deployed on the

Software Development :: Compilers
About: Metastorage is a PHP data access object generator compiler tool. It
implements an object persistence API from a description in an XML format
named CPML. The persistent object classes implement object-relational
mappings, so developers do not have to write SQL manually. It features an
object query language for specifying conditions for querying objects,
generation of classes for producing reports, generation of classes to
manage templated Web forms for creating new persistent objects, and
generation of UML class diagrams. It can be run from the command line or
from a Web interface.
Changes: This release includes an example application that demonstrates
how to use Metastorage generated code in real projects. The example
application is a simple news publishing system named Metanews. The
documentation was enhanced to explain how Metanews was built using a
methodology named Use Case mapping. This methodology defines how to depart
from UML use case diagrams to an implementation based on PHP OOP classes.
The templates of the form themes were enhanced to be compliant with HTML
4.01 Strict DTD. A bug in the generation of queries that use OQL to
traverse collections of objects was fixed.

[057] - Multiple Time Sheets 4
by John Kawakami (http://freshmeat.net/users/wildgift/)
Mon, Jan 30th 2006 22:53
Office/Business
About: Multiple Time Sheets is a single-user Web application to help
short-term workers keep track of hours worked for multiple clients. You
install it on your public server, add some password protection, and use it
from there. MTS features wiki-like free-form editing, without picky forms.
The to-do list is a simple outline editor. The invoicing subsystem sends
email to your clients. It magically links to Bugzilla. Multiple Time
Sheets is designed for Firefox.
Changes: This release added a feature that replaces text patterns with
links so that strings like "Bug 10" can link to a bug tracking
application. CSV export was added for the timesheet along with OPML export
for the to-do list.

Internet
System :: Networking
About: Netsukuku is a P2P network system that generates and sustains
itself autonomously, using a fractal algorithm to calculate routes. It is
designed to handle a large number of nodes with minimal CPU and memory
resources.
Changes: The IGS was implemented. A node can now share its Internet
connection among the other nodes. The main part of the NTK_RFC 0001 was
written and the (g)nodes now have the ability to rehook to avoid IP
collision. ANDNS was implemented. It is a new specification of the DNS
protocol for Netsukuku. It is compatible with the actual DNS protocol. If
it is possible to reach an rnode trough multiple interfaces, they are now
all used with a multipath route. The dns_wrapper code is no longer
dependent on Boost. The internal map format was optimized. The code was
heavily cleaned.

System :: Monitoring
System :: Systems Administration
Utilities
About: System Configuration Collector (SCC) is yet another configuration
collector. It consists of a client and a server part. The client collects
configuration data in a structured snapshot, compares the new snapshot
with the previous one, and adds differences to a logbook. Then the
snapshot and the logbook are converted to HTML for local inspection.
Optionally, the data can be sent to a system running the server software.
On the server, summaries of the data are generated, and search/compare
operations on the snapshots and logbooks are available via a Web
interface.
Changes: This release included corrections for split files that moved data
with spaces in the classification, VMWare configuration files, class
conflicts with lilo, hours with leading zeros in scc_timing, the URLs for
help information in snapshot, and PuppyLinux. Configuration files for
BigBrother/Sister were added. The data of process hierarchies was moved to
the other classification for AIX and Solaris. Some networking configuration
was files were added and the copyright notice was updated.
