[001] - Access_user Class 1.89
  by olaf (http://freshmeat.net/users/olaf2/)
  Mon, May 29th 2006 05:46

Software Development :: Libraries :: PHP Classes

About: Access_user Class is an easy to use system for protecting pages and
registering users. The main features are user login, user registration,
page protection, forgotten password recovery, and email-based account
activation. The class is powered by MySQL and PHP sessions. Inside the
package are examples for all primary methods.

Changes: Until the last version, there was a small bug inside the messages
method in which sending a confirmation caused the login of the
administrator to show up. This wrong login was replaced with the value of
the real name field (or a default if this is empty). $msg[37] was changed
to get the right name inside the conformation email. The method
send_confirmation() was also modified. The missing $msg[24] was also added
for several languages.

[002] - Achievo 1.2.1 (Stable)
  by Sandy Pleyte (http://freshmeat.net/users/sndpl/)
  Mon, May 29th 2006 22:10

Information Management
Internet :: WWW/HTTP
Office/Business

About: Achievo is a Web-based project management and tracking tool for
small- to medium-sized companies, aiming to become a fully featured
ERP-like system in the future. Features include a time registration
module, scheduler, project management, todo's, and several statistical
tools. Achievo is multi-language, fully customizable, and uses a modular
system to allow future extensions.

Changes: This release contains bugfixes for the activity stats and project
start/end dates that were converted from earlier releases. Project/phases
whose end date has expired can now still be used in time registration. A
SQL injection in the employee node was fixed. The search box in the top
frame now has the ability to register time in the future by adjusting a
config parameter.

[003] - Apache mod_suid 2.1 (Stable)
  by Igmar Palsenberg (http://freshmeat.net/users/igmar/)
  Mon, May 29th 2006 08:28

Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: HTTP Servers

About: Apache mod_suid allows per-vhost execution of scripts under their
own UIDs. It functions in a way similar to Apache's perchild MPM, but
differs in a number of ways. It does per child user/group switching; the
Apache MPM makes switches based on vhosts. All processing is done under a
specific UID/GID, including PHP and mod_perl scripts.

Changes: The fsuid code was removed, since it doesn't work when using
ports greater than 1024. A bug which occurred when setresuid() was called
with the wrong arguments in certain circumstances was fixed.

[004] - Arch Linux 0.7.2 (Development)
  by Judd Vinet (http://freshmeat.net/users/apeiro/)
  Mon, May 29th 2006 13:48

System
System :: Operating System
System :: Systems Administration

About: Arch Linux is an i686-optimized Linux distribution. It is
lightweight and contains the latest stable versions of software. Packages
are in .tar.gz format and are tracked by a package manager that is
designed to allow easy package upgrades. Arch is quite streamlined
compared to some other distributions. Things that are relatively unused
are not kept (info pages, for example). A default Arch install leaves you
with a solid base; from there, you can add packages to create the custom
installation you're looking for. Arch has a package build system that
allows you to easily create your own packages, which makes it very easy to
rebuild a package with your own custom configuration. Arch also aims to use
the newer features available to Linux users, such as reiserfs/ext3 and
devfs.

Changes: Updated packages. Minor bugs in the installer have been fixed.
Hardware auto-detection has been improved.

[006] - avrmon-stk200 0.7.1
  by Nicolas Korber (http://freshmeat.net/users/nkorber/)
  Mon, May 29th 2006 13:27

Software Development :: Debuggers

About: avrmon-stk200 is a port of Denis Chertykov's Linux debug monitor
system for Atmel AVR microcontrollers. It is compatible with the
connection scheme used in Atmels "STK200 Starter Kit", as opposed to the
original version that used the "DAPA" (Alex's Direct Avr Parallel Access)
scheme. In short, the monitor system allows you to do in-systems
source-level debugging on AVR microcontrollers with gdb (avr-gdb).

Changes: The project was adapted to an up-to-date GNU toolchain (gcc 3.4.5
and gdb 6.4) and tested with Eclipse 3.1.0. The project was also split into
two distinct parts since one (host part) is compiled with a native GCC and
the other (target part) is cross-compiled. The target part has been
modified to be usable as a library module.

the following syntax: {a..b}; ${var|...}; then-else-fi to
for/while/until/case statements; try-block with string exception; <&lt+;
and, <<<<. As builtin, it adds the following: sscanf(3), <string.h>,
<ctype.h> wrappers; array, regex(3), stack, queue operations; GDBM,
SQLite, PostgreSQL, MySQL database interfaces; HTML template engine
(BASP); Expat XML parser interface; x-y char plot; DOS, CSV, Awk support;
Libwebserver interface; RPN calculator with <math.h> functions; and, GTK+2

Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Site Management
Software Development :: Documentation
Text Processing :: Markup :: HTML/XHTML

About: bib2xhtml is a program that converts BibTeX files into HTML
(specifically, XHTML 1.0). The conversion is mostly done by specialized
BibTeX style files, derived from a converted bibliography style template.
This ensures that the original BibTeX styles are faithfully reproduced.
Some post-processing is performed by Perl code. This is an update of the
bib2html program written by David Hull in 1996 and maintained by him until
1998.

Changes: Changes in this version prevent tildes in URLs from being
converted into spaces. Support for some missing Czech characters has been
added. The handling of the degree symbol and the \dots markup command has
been corrected.

[011] - cryptmount 1.0
  by rwpenney (http://freshmeat.net/users/rwpenney/)
  Mon, May 29th 2006 13:49

Security :: Cryptography
System :: Filesystems

About: cryptmount assists system administrators in setting up encrypted
filesystems based on the device mapper (dm-crypt) of GNU/Linux systems
using a 2.6-series kernel. After initial setup, it allows any user to
mount or unmount filesystems on demand, solely by providing the decryption
password, with any system devices needed to access the filing system being
configured automatically. A wide variety of encryption schemes (provided
by the kernel and OpenSSL library) can be used to protect both the filing
system and the access key. The protected filing systems can reside in
either ordinary files or disk partitions.

Changes: Filesystem setup was eased with a new key-generation mechanism. A
password changing facility was added. An internationalization
infrastructure was added, with French translations of messages and man
pages.

[020] - Gujin 1.4
  by Etienne (http://freshmeat.net/users/etiennelorrain/)
  Mon, May 29th 2006 13:47

System :: Boot :: Init

About: Gujin is a PC boot loader which can analyze your filesystems. It
finds the Linux kernel images available, as well as other bootable
partitions (for *BSD, MS-DOS, Windows, etc.), and displays a graphical
menu for selecting which system to boot. Because it understands the
structure of Linux kernel images, Gujin does not need LILO and can even
load very big kernels. There is no need to execute anything after making a
new kernel: just copy the kernel image file into the "/boot" directory.
Gujin is written almost entirely in C with GCC, and it fully executes in
real mode to be as compatible as possible.

Changes: Compiles with GCC 4.1.1. Video mode selection for tiny.exe has
been added. Support for an initrd over 64 Mb for the DOS loader. Better
floppy simulation (MSDOS works). A CDROM image on a partition can boot in
no-emulation mode (DSL on /dev/hda8 works). All reported bugs have been
fixed.

Software Development :: Embedded Systems
Software Development :: Interpreters
Software Development :: Libraries :: Java Libraries

About: The Hecl Programming Language is a high-level scripting language
implemented in Java. It is intended to be small, extensible, extremely
flexible, and easy to learn and use. It is intended as a complement to the
Java programming language, not a replacement. As such, it tries to do well
what Java doesn't, and leaves those tasks to Java for which it is best
suited. It is also easy to add Hecl to Java, or write new Hecl commands in
Java. It aims to be a very immediate language so that you can pick it up
and start doing useful things with it quickly. Of particular interest is
the fact that it's small enough to run on Java-enabled cell phones, so you
can quickly script applications for them!

Changes: No longer uses & to denote references. $ is used exclusively, and
the 'copy' command is used for copying.

Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Dynamic Content :: CGI Tools/Libraries
Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: HTTP Servers

About: KLone is a fully-featured, multi-platform framework which allows
dynamic Web pages to be written in C/C++ (with the usual <% code %>
style). The pages can then be embedded (in compressed and/or encrypted
form) into a single executable that also contains KLone's high-performance
HTTP/S server. Given its nature, it can be linked natively to any C/C++
library (database, XML, graphics, etc.), without an intermediate layer,
and it is especially suited for low-resource (embedded) systems.

Changes: io_is_secure and io_ssl_get_SSL have been added. The license has
been updated to explicitly permit OpenSSL linking. There is a
request_parse_multipart_chunk fix. The "Location:" redirect has been
fixed.

[063] - Zero Install Injector 0.21
  by Thomas Leonard (http://freshmeat.net/users/tal197/)

Internet
Software Development :: Version Control
System :: Archiving :: Packaging

About: The Zero Install Injector makes it possible for users to install
software easily and without the need for root privileges. It takes the URL
of a program's interface description and chooses suitable versions of the
program and all of its dependencies (also identified by URLs) according to
the user's policy settings (eg. "stable", "testing", "minimal network use",
etc). The chosen versions are downloaded and cached and the program is run,
using environment variables to let it find the components.

Changes: Support for extracting from zip and autopackage format archives
was added. When multiple GPG keys need to be confirmed, the dialog boxes
are now queued correctly. The packaging documentation has been extended to
show how to publish Inkscape's binary RPM with Zero Install so that it will
be installable without root access and will work on other systems (such as
Debian).
