[002] - Bygfoot Football Manager. 2.0.0
by gyboth (http://freshmeat.net/users/gyboth/)
Sun, Jun 4th 2006 08:06
Games/Entertainment :: Simulation
About: Bygfoot is a small and simple graphical football (a.k.a. soccer)
manager game featuring many international leagues and cups. You manage a
team from one such league: you form the team, buy and sell players, get
promoted or relegated, and of course try to be successful.
Changes: Since version 1.9.6, the English, Scottish, German, and Irish
definitions were updated. A bug that prevented 1st league CPU teams from
growing stronger when the user became champion was fixed. Some
zenity-related errors were fixed in the bygfoot-update script. A bug that
led to a crash on AMD64-systems was fixed.

[003] - Cgiapp.class.php 2.0.0 (Development)
by Matthew Weier O'Phinney (http://freshmeat.net/users/weierophinney/)
Sun, Jun 4th 2006 23:18
Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Dynamic Content :: CGI Tools/Libraries
Software Development :: Libraries :: PHP Classes
About: Cgiapp.class.php is a port of CGI::Application to PHP. It utilizes
Smarty as its default templating engine, much as CGI::Application uses
HTML::Template, due to its prevalence and acceptance in the PHP community.
Due to PHP's built-in session support, it also adds two methods, s_param()
and s_delete(), to handle session parameters. A number of static methods
have also been included to facilitate error handling and array/hash
conversion.
Changes: This marks the first stable release of the Cgiapp2 series. The
2.x series of Cgiapp completes a PHP5 port of Cgiapp2. Important new
features include an extensive, powerful, and flexible callback system.
Template engines have now been moved to a plugin system, and Cgiapp2 ships
with Smarty, Savant2/3, and XSLT plugins. Extensive error and exception
handling was added. A simple, flexible sample front controller class was
added.

[004] - ConfigObj 4.3.2
by Fuzzyman (http://freshmeat.net/users/fuzzyman/)
Sun, Jun 4th 2006 17:17
About: ConfigObj is a simple but powerful config file reader and writer
for Python applications. It is very easy to use and has a straightforward
programmer's interface and a simple syntax for config files. It also
supports nested sections to any level, list values, multiple line values,
string interpolation, a powerful validation system, including automatic
type checking and conversion, repeated sections, default values,
preservation of comments and the order of keys and sections, and no
external dependencies.
Changes: This is a bugfix and minor feature enhancement release. It makes
exception handling cleaner and fixes a few minor bugs.

[005] - cromfs 1.1.6.1
by Bisqwit (http://freshmeat.net/users/Bisqwit/)
Sun, Jun 4th 2006 10:44
System :: Filesystems
About: Cromfs is a compressed read-only filesystem for Linux. Cromfs is
intended for permanently archiving gigabytes of big files that have a lot
of redundancy. It is more aimed at heavy compression than at a light
fingerprint. It uses the lzma compression algorithm from 7-zip.
Changes: This release adds a data extraction program, unmkcromfs, which
allows extracting or listing files from the filesystem without mounting
it. It also incorporates many performance-improving changes and updates
the documentation.

[007] - FifoEmbed 2.1.1
by Dan Muresan (http://freshmeat.net/users/muresan/)
Sun, Jun 4th 2006 23:46
Software Development :: Libraries
About: FifoEmbed provides three abstract data types for the C programming
language, implemented on top of circular arrays. The first is a basic
queue that supports enqueue/dequeue operations. The second is a packet
queue implemented on top of the basic queue that additionally provides
out-of-sequence insertion and packet resequencing. The third is a memory
pool queue ("mpoolq") which is an allocator optimized for
first-in/first-out access patterns. These can be useful when programming
device drivers, network stacks, and similar systems.

been made const. unistd.h was removed from the includes in some of the
examples, since it's not valid on Windows.

Software Development :: Libraries :: Application Frameworks
About: Hydrate is a Java mapping tool that lets you lay an object model
over relational and XML data and move information quickly and efficiently

offered by an object-oriented language. Hydrate solves real-world problems
in a practical way, is flexible, robust, and fast.

About: py-bcrypt is a Python wrapper of OpenBSD's Blowfish password
hashing code, as described in "A Future-Adaptable Password Scheme" by
Niels Provos and David Mazières. This system hashes passwords using a
version of Bruce Schneier's Blowfish block cipher with modifications
designed to raise the cost of off-line password cracking and frustrate
fast hardware implementation. The computation cost of the algorithm
depends on a parameter, so it can be increased as computers get faster.

[041] - SportsTracker 2.0.0
by ssaring (http://freshmeat.net/users/ssaring/)
Sun, Jun 4th 2006 10:47
Database
Information Management :: Records Management
About: SportsTracker is an application for recording sporting activities.
It is not bound to a specific kind of sport, as categories can be created
for all sport types that are endurance related, such as cycling or
running. The main advantages are a good overview of the exercises and
easy creation of statistics for specific time ranges and sport types.
Users of heart rate monitors can organize the recorded data by attaching
them to the exercise entries.
Changes: PolarViewer has been completely integrated into SportsTracker
now. These projects are very closely related, so it was better to
integrate them. Installation and configuration is much simpler now (also
on Windows). There will be no stand-alone PolarViewer releases anymore.
The support for Polar RS200 monitors in the PolarViewer component has been
improved. The exercise files can now be downloaded using the rs200-decoder
tool.

by Guilherme Silveira (http://freshmeat.net/users/TechnoBug/)
Sun, Jun 4th 2006 17:17
Software Development
Software Development :: Libraries :: Application Frameworks
Software Development :: Libraries :: Java Libraries
About: VRaptor 2 is a Web-based MVC and IOC framework based on many
frameworks and ideas (Seam, Stripes, Webwork, Hibernate Annotations, etc).
It makes full use of Java 5 Annotations. It favors convention over
configuration, because configuration in XML/properties/annotations is
always easy to make mistakes and repetitive (aka copy and paste in many
places). This framework uses a more imperative approach, instead of having
many XML files to configure lifecycle and other properties. Most of the
settings go inside plain Java objects (POJO), so the team knows exactly
what is going on and where.
Changes: This release comes with Hibernate Validator support, a few
bugfixes, improvements in the automatic test generator, a default file
upload interceptor based on the Jakarta Commons file upload, and new
tests.
