[031] - P4A 1.99.6 (Development)
by Fabrizio Balliano (http://freshmeat.net/users/balliano/)

Information Management
Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Dynamic Content
Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Site Management
About: P4A (PHP For Applications) is a RAD and object oriented PHP
framework for building event-driven stateful Web applications. It features
tableless HTML, accesskey support, point and click app generator, auto data
type recognition, UTF-8 support, advanced i18n/l10n support, handheld "zero
code" support, "zero code" printing via advanced CSS2, and PEAR
integration.
Changes: P4A_DB_Navigator now highlights the droppable item when a
draggable is over it. A Traditional Chinese translation was added.
P4A_DB_NAvigator does not show the "home" icon if "movements to root" are
not allowed. isSortable(), addOrder(), setOrder(), getOrder(), hasOrder(),
and dropOrder() were moved from P4A_DB_Source to P4A_Data_Source. A bug
with Ajax autodetection and configuration was fixed. When a row in a
P4A_Data_Source is deleted, it moves to first row instead of the last row.
P4A_Data_Source::newRow() now triggers beforeMoveRow and afterMoveRow
events.

[032] - pcal and lcal 2.0.0 (lcal)
by Bill Marr (http://freshmeat.net/users/marr99/)
Sat, Aug 12th 2006 01:37
About: Pcal prints nice-looking PostScript (or HTML) calendars and has a
wide variety of useful options. Its real power is its ability to create
personalized calendars by marking 'events' (for example, payday) and by
adding EPS images (photos, icons, etc). Lcal generates one page or two
page full-year lunar calendars.
Changes: This release provides a new one-page uncompressed format and
fixes a few bugs, including two in the timezone handling. It now provides
support for compilation under various DOS environments (DOS, DJGPP,
CygWin) and provides better PostScript output for previewer applications.

Communications
Communications :: Chat
Communications :: Chat :: Internet Relay Chat
About: PHP Live is a live support system for Web sites. Its functions
include unlimited operators, unlimited departments, chat initiation, click
tracking, Web site traffic monitoring, and more.
Changes: This release has a time zone check for PHP versions 5.0 and newer
to limit possible errors. A notice will alert the user if the popup blocker
disables the chat window from opening. When initiating chat using the auto
popup chat window, it will detect if the user has a popup blocker, and
will automatically set to image scroll if detected. status_image.php now
checks for valid GET variables in various areas to limit JavaScript
exploits. There is further checking of css_path variables for validation.

Sat, Aug 12th 2006 01:02
Scientific/Engineering
Scientific/Engineering :: Electronic Design Automation (EDA)
Software Development :: Libraries :: Python Modules
About: PySTDF is a Python module which makes it easy to work with STDF
(Teradyne's Standard Test Data Format). STDF is a commonly-used file
format in semiconductor tests. Automated test equipment (ATE) from such
vendors as Teradyne, Verigy, LTX, Credence, and others supports this
format. PySTDF provides event-based stream parsing of STDF version 4,
indexers that help structure the data into a more useful tabular form, and
the ability to generate missing summary records or new types of derivative
records. The parser architecture is very flexible and can easily be
extended to support STDF version 3 and custom record types.
Changes: distutils was added to make the module fit for general user
consumption and to bring the stdf2atdf script into closer compliance with
the ATDF specification.

by JKB (http://freshmeat.net/users/jkb/)
Sat, Aug 12th 2006 14:19
Scientific/Engineering :: Mathematics
Software Development :: Interpreters
About: RPL/2 (Reverse Polish Lisp/2) is a langage derived from the RPL
made by Hewlett-Packard for its HP-28S. It has some extensions
(preprocessor, compilated libraries, new functions), a TeX output, and can
draw graphics.
Changes: A major memory leak was fixed in the DETACH intrinsic. A bug that
avoids usage of Motif was fixed in the configure.in script, and makefile.am
files were modified to build RPL/2 with locales other than ISO-8859. db and
sdb were removed due to some bugs. New SQL routines were written (MySQL
only). A major bug was fixed in the evaluation() subroutine. The FACT
intrinsic does not accept real arguments anymore due to the new intrinsic
GAMMA. autoconf/automake scripts were modified to compile F90 sources. All
NR references are avoided. GSL was upgraded to the 1.8 release. -lz was
added in src/Makefile.am to fix a mistake in sparc32.

[039] - ShaniXmlParser 1.4.7
by Quentin Anciaux (http://freshmeat.net/users/allcolor/)
Sat, Aug 12th 2006 03:56
Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Dynamic Content
Software Development :: Libraries :: Java Libraries
Text Processing :: Markup
About: ShaniXmlParser is an XML/HTML DOM/SAX parser. It can parse not
well formed XML/HTML files. It can parse files with inverted tags and bad
escaped &,<,> and ". It expands all XHTML entities by default. It is well
suited to parse HTML files, and is fast with low memory usage. It is
compliant with the jaxp/w3c DOM1/2/3 interfaces.
Changes: This release corrects the method isValidChild for HTML documents
in the DOM handler. Users should use lastIndexOf('/') instead of
lastIndexOf('/',0) (which is bogus in the getHTMLCss method on the DOM
document).

About: Shed Skin is an experimental Python-to-C++ compiler. It accepts
pure but implicitly statically typed Python programs and generates
optimized C++ code. This means that in combination with a C++ compiler, it
allows for translation of pure Python programs into highly efficient
machine language. For a set of 16 non-trivial test programs, measurements
show a typical speedup of 2-40 over Psyco, about 12 on average, and 2-220
over CPython, about 45 on average. Shed Skin also outputs annotated source
code.
Changes: This release adds much-improved string formatting, implementation
of several new imports (e.g., getopt.getopt and cStringIO.StringIO), an
improved file implementation, and many bugfixes.

[044] - UFRaw 0.9.1
by Udi Fuchs (http://freshmeat.net/users/udifuchs/)
Sat, Aug 12th 2006 22:20
Multimedia :: Graphics :: Editors
Multimedia :: Graphics :: Graphics Conversion
About: UFRaw is a utility for converting and manipulating raw images from
digital cameras. It can be used as a stand-alone tool or as a Gimp plugin,
and images can be batch processed using the commandline interface. UFRaw
reads most existing raw formats using Dave Coffin's raw conversion utility
DCRaw, and it supports basic color management using Little CMS, allowing
the user to apply color profiles. For Nikon users, UFRaw has the advantage
that it can read the camera's tone curves. Even if you don't own a Nikon,
you can still apply a Nikon curve to your images.
Changes: Sony's *.arw file type is now recognized. Exiv2 warnings are
redirected from the terminal to the log. Building for some build
environments (involving libjpeg errors) was fixed. Minolta's Alpha and
Maxxum models are treated as the Dynax model for WB presets. If none of
these bugs affect you, there is no need to upgrade.
