[001] - 123 Flash Chat 6.3
by 123fcserver (http://freshmeat.net/users/123fcserver/)
Mon, Dec 25th 2006 23:26
Communications
Communications :: Chat
Communications :: Chat :: Unix Talk
About: 123 Flash Chat Server is a chat server with a Flash-based client.
It can fully integrate with the user databases of Postnuke, phpbb,
phpnuke, vbulletin, Invision board, and MaxWebPortal, etc. It's a fast,
easy and affordable method of hosting and managing real-time chat rooms.
It allows you to organize chat events, collaborative work sessions, and
online meetings reliably. The interface and function are customizable.
Changes: HTTP tunneling now works through a proxy. The user’s chatting
status is now preserved, so if a connection is lost due to network
problems, they can reconnect, log in to the chat, and enter the original
room automatically. Christmas flash emotions and backgrounds were added.
Minor bugs were fixed and performance was enhanced.

About: Apt-zeroconf is a distributed apt-cacher for local networks. It's
called apt-zeroconf since it uses avahi for automatically finding other
apt-zeroconf instances on the LAN, similar to Apple's
Rendezvous/Bonjour/Zeroconf technology.
Changes: This release adds APT resuming capabilities, fixes problems with
packages with epoch, and uses debconf for easier activation.

Internet :: Proxy Servers
Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Site Management
About: BalanceNG is a modern software IP load balancing solution. It is
small, fast, and easy to use and setup. It offers session persistence,
different distribution methods (Round Robin, Random, Hash, and Least
Resource) and a customizable UDP health check agent in source code. It
supports VRRP (Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol) to set up high
availability configurations on multiple nodes. It integrates pcap packet
dumping for debugging purposes and allows the implementation of a
"transparent forensic logging bridge".
Changes: A bug in the Solaris packaging has been fixed, making pkgadd
working again on Solaris 10 / SPARC.

Software Development :: Compilers
Software Development :: Interpreters
About: Bigloo is an implementation of the Scheme programming language. It
relies on an optimizing compiler from Scheme to C. Bigloo enables
connections between Scheme code and C code. It proposes many extensions to
Scheme such as a regular parser compiler, an lalr parser compiler, pattern
matching, an object layer, etc.
Changes: This is a major release. The highlights of this version are new
compiler optimization, improved tracing (for improving debugging), native
SRFI-4 support, improved performance of sockets with DNS caching, and
major bugfixes of the object layer within the interpreter.

[005] - Bitgate Server Software Environment 0.3.0
by Ken Hollis (http://freshmeat.net/users/Tsuichi1/)
Mon, Dec 25th 2006 23:28
Internet
About: Bitgate Server Software Environment aims to build a multi-protocol
environment in which server protocol handlers can be eventually loaded and
unloaded on the fly using a center console or controller Web page. It aims
to have 99.9% uptime, and have high-availability (Java 6) compliance. It
is written in Java 5, and relies completely on Java's I/O functionality to
provide non-blocking support for both SSL and non-SSL sockets
(transparently). All configuration is done via XML files, as this is
easier to maintain. It includes a minimal demonstration HTTP server.
Changes: Several areas of the code were updated. A simple HTTP
implementation was implemented as an example of adding a new server
protocol. The server code now handles client disconnects a little nicer,
and includes statistics gathering. A Base64 encoder/decoder was added.
Several updates were made to interface objects to make interfacing with
the server much easier. A TODO list and a "runServer" script were also
included.

menu system to replace the console, a new pawn promotion interface,
variable AI difficulty, a new loading screen, shadows and other graphical
tweaks, full rotation of the camera, history arrows displaying the

Documentation
Text Processing :: Markup :: SGML
Text Processing :: Markup :: XML
About: doclifter is a tool that transcodes {n,t,g}roff documentation to
DocBook XML markup. It parses man, mandoc, ms, me, or TkMan page sources,
does structural analysis, and recognizes common troff-markup cliches. The
result is usable without further hand-hacking about 95% of the time.
Changes: A bug in db2man.xsl was worked around. Markus Hoenicka's
requested behavior for multiple-file conversions was implemented.
Translation of groff extended .cc and .c2 requests was implemented. The
TA macro that occurs duplicatively with .ta in X.org manual pages is now
ignored. The program can cope with unresolved .Sx refererences in mdoc.
Ex and .Ee are handled. The X consortium macro preamble is now handled
better. .RS/.RE is now fully handled, with no more spurious warnings.

[014] - fli4l 3.0.2 (Stable)
by Tobias Gruetzmacher (http://freshmeat.net/users/tobig/)
Mon, Dec 25th 2006 18:57
System :: Operating System
About: fli4l is a single-floppy Linux-based ISDN/DSL/ethernet-router. It
features configuration with some simple ASCII-files, several possible
connection-flavors (in/out/callback, and raw IP/PPP), channel bundling (an
extra channel can be added through a Windows/Unix-client), configuration of
multiple networks, least-cost routing, automatic choice of provider,
display/calculation of connection times and costs, and a Windows/Unix
client to control dial/hangup, monitor traffic and monitor incoming calls
on ISDN (see screenshot).
Changes: This is a pure bugfix release. Most prominently, this fixes the
recent madwifi driver vulnerabilities, so users who are using their router
with Atheros hardware in managed mode should update as soon as possible.
Many binaries were updated to newer versions in this release. There were
some minor fixes and improvements in the OpenVPN and HTTPD packages. The
variable DNS_TRIGGER_DIAL_IN is now obsolete.

[018] - HTTP client request class 2006.12.23
by Manuel Lemos (http://freshmeat.net/users/mlemos/)
Mon, Dec 25th 2006 23:25
Internet :: WWW/HTTP
Software Development :: Libraries :: PHP Classes
About: HTTP client is a PHP class to make HTTP requests. It can submit
requests via a proxy server and establish secure connections (HTTPS) with
optional SSL client certificates. It supports HTTP authentication
mechanisms like HTTP Basic, HTTP Digest, and NTLM (Windows or Samba). It
submits POST requests with user-defined form values, file uploading, or
with user-defined request bodies. It handles cookies and automatic
redirection handling. There is an addon class to log in to Yahoo and
execute actions on behalf of the user, like exporting the address book or
sending invitations to Yahoo groups.
Changes: The release avoids a potential memory exhaustion problem that
could be caused while handling HTTP/1.1 100 status responses using
recursion. The GetRequestArguments now sets the user to an empty string
when a password is specified and the user is empty, and vice-versa.

[031] - xen-shell 0.7
by Steve Kemp (http://freshmeat.net/users/skx/)
Mon, Dec 25th 2006 19:02
About: xen-shell is a simple console program to allow a hosting company to
delegate control of Xen instances directly to their clients. The shell
allows a user to boot, shutdown, or reimage their own personal Xen guest
without giving the user general access to the Xen host system or allowing
the user to touch the instances of other users.
Changes: This release adds an interface to the "top" listing of the Xen
hypervisor, allowing users to see their impact upon the host system.

About: xen-tools is a collection of scripts that allow you to manipulate
virtual images for the Xen virtualization software. With the tools
installed, you may create new instances of Debian, complete with
networking, OpenSSH, and user accounts, with one simple command. Images
may also be easily updated, listed, or deleted.
Changes: This release adds several new speedups and error correction
enhancements that make creating new instances of Debian much faster and
more reliable.
