Multimedia :: Video
Multimedia :: Video :: Display

About: ASDF (A Simple DVD Frontend for MPlayer) is intended to make
watching DVDs with MPlayer easier. It's written in Perl using the Qt
toolkit. It provides an easy way to select the track you want to watch, as
well as audio and subtitle languages and deinterlacing. It also provides a
way to hide the short "empty" tracks that litter many DVDs.

Changes: Settings are now saved when you close the application. It now
seems to start up faster (through smoke and mirrors).

[004] - BasKet Note Pads 1.0 Beta 3 (Development)
  by Sebien (http://freshmeat.net/users/Sebien/)
  Sun, Jan 14th 2007 06:59

About: BasKet Note Pads is an application that provides several baskets
into which the user can drop all sorts of notes: rich text, links, images,
sounds, files, colors, application launchers, and more. Objects in the
baskets can be edited, copied, and rearranged. This application can be
used to quickly store Web objects (such as links, text, or images) or
notes, and it can also help clean up a clutered desktop. It is also useful
for collecting information for a report. The data in baskets can be shared
with co-workers by exporting them to HTML.

Changes: This beta release completes the implementation of various
enhancements that were not finished for the 0.6.0 release. You can now
import from text files, change the folder where your baskets are saved,
backup, and restore your baskets. A few bugs were also fixed.

[007] - Cultivation 7
  by Jason Rohrer (http://freshmeat.net/users/jcr13/)
  Sun, Jan 14th 2007 07:00

Games/Entertainment

About: Cultivation explores the social interactions within a gardening
community. You lead one family of gardeners, starting with a single
individual, and wise choices can keep your genetic line from extinction.
While breeding plants, eating, and mating, your actions impact your
neighbors, and the social balance sways between conflict and compromise.
Cultivation features dynamic graphics that are procedurally-generated
using genetic representations and cross-breeding. In other words, game
objects are "grown" in real-time instead of being hand-painted or
hard-coded. Each plant and gardener in the game is unique in terms of both
its appearance and behavior.

Changes: The main focus of this release is the inclusion of a much-needed
in-game tutorial. The user interface has be polished in several different
ways, and one crash has been fixed.

[009] - Dragon parser generator 1.2.6
  by lemke (http://freshmeat.net/users/lemke/)
  Sun, Jan 14th 2007 15:02

Software Development :: Code Generators

About: Dragon is a powerful parser generator. It produces a consequent,
object-oriented, integrated scanner and parser solution. It also scales
for very large grammar defintions. Since dragon parses LR(1) grammars, the
generation algorithm is quite CPU intensive. Using LR(1) instead of LALR
decreases efficiency of the parser, but avoids some reduce/reduce
conflicts in some cases. Dragon provides a very clean and structured way
for the integration of application specific context code. Dragon combines
the lexical and syntactical analysis and the corresponding code
generation.

  Sun, Jan 14th 2007 15:17

Software Development :: Libraries
System :: Hardware

About: parapin makes it easy to write C code under Linux that controls
individual pins on a PC parallel port. This kind of control is very useful
for electronics projects that use the PC's parallel port as a generic
digital I/O interface. Parapin goes to great lengths to insulate the
programmer from the somewhat complex parallel port programming interface
provided by the PC hardware, and comes as a user-space C library, or
linked as part of a Linux kernel module.

added for building/maintaining multiple language bindings on top of
parapin. This is the first formal release of Pedro Werneck's Python

Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Dynamic Content
Software Development :: Libraries :: Java Libraries

About: Rhinohide is a Java implementation of the W3C DOM, layered over a
Web browser's native JavaScript. Comparable to Sun's Common DOM API, it
provides applets with an interface to the Web document, through a familiar
Java binding of the DOM. The implementation is not yet complete, but it
provides at least partial support for these DOM features: Core level 3,
XML, Events, Traversal, and Range.

Changes: Modelling of the global 'window' object is improved. Handling of
LiveConnect bugs/exceptions is improved. Additional applets were coded for
the demo: one for DOM events and one for DOM traversal.

  Sun, Jan 14th 2007 03:01

Information Management :: Metadata/Semantic Models
Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Browsers
Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Indexing/Search

About: SRESI is a smart bookmark manager. It currently sports both a
command-line and a PHP interface. It works with both the standard
hierarchical trees and the new and fashionable tagged bookmarks. It was
developed as a way to interface both representation systems. SRESI can use
Del.icio.us, Mozilla, Opera, and XBEL bookmarks, and handles a few more
exports besides. Directories and tags are used equivalently, and the final
hierarchies are inferred from actual tag use.

Changes: The tree generation algorithm was greatly optimized: its
complexity was reduced by an order of magnitude. The Web site

Software Development :: Version Control
Software Development :: Version Control :: Subversion

About: StatSVN retrieves information from a Subversion repository and
generates various tables and charts describing the project development.
For example, it can generate a timeline for the lines of code, the

generates a static set of HTML documents containing tables and chart
images.

Changes: A new Line of Code and 'Churn' page that shows the evolution of
LOC and the number of lines touched. A new and dynamic repository based on
JTreeMap that, at a glance, shows the last 30 days of changes in your
repository. Fetching the line diff is now multi-threaded (25) by default
if a call to the server takes more than 2 seconds. Both threshold and
threads are configurable. Experimental support has been added for
