[001] - amavisd-new 2.4.5
by Mark Martinec (http://freshmeat.net/users/mmartinec/)
Tue, Jan 30th 2007 23:20
Communications :: Email :: Filters
About: amavisd-new is a high-performance and reliable interface between
MTAs and one or more content checkers, including virus scanners, and/or
the Mail::SpamAssassin Perl module. It talks to an MTA via (E)SMTP or
LMTP, or by using helper programs. No timing gaps exist in the design,
which could cause a mail loss. It is normally positioned at or near a
central mailer, not necessarily where the user's mailboxes and final
delivery takes place.
Changes: A loop is avoided in p0f-analyzer.pl when stdin is unexpectedly
closed, and its usefulness as a potential UDP reflector for an attacker
from internal networks was limited. The timer is restarted after sophie or
clamd times out, preventing the next attempt from running with no time
limit. Timeout handling was improved in the interface code to daemonized
virus scanners. An unavailable IP address is treated as 0.0.0.0 for the
purpose of looking up a client IP address in
mynetworks_maps as a
convenience. A more informative message is reported when a file(1) utility
fails. A tuning tip was added to README.sql on buffer sizes with
MySQL/InnoDB.

[009] - Decimail Server 0.12
by Phil Endecott (http://freshmeat.net/users/endecotp/)
Tue, Jan 30th 2007 07:32
Communications :: Email :: Mail Transport Agents
Communications :: Email :: Post-Office :: IMAP
Database
About: Decimail Server is a mail server supporting IMAP and SMTP that uses
a PostgreSQL database to store messages. Mailboxes are defined using SQL
queries, allowing complex client-independent automatic message filtering
and categorisation. For example you can partition your messages
chronologically, by correspondent, and by mailing list at the same time,
with each message appearing in several mailboxes. You can also use
PostgreSQL's text indexing extension for fast keyword searching. Decimail
also features anti-spam processing of outgoing messages.
Changes: This version adds tsearch2 indexing of message bodies as they are
received. You can then group messages based on keywords that they contain
by creating new mailboxes under "/Keywords". The new mailbox name should
be a tsearch2 query expression that the messages must match.

Multimedia :: Graphics
Multimedia :: Graphics :: 3D Modeling
Multimedia :: Graphics :: 3D Rendering
About: Dice3DS is a set of Pure Python modules for dealing with 3D Studio
format (*.3ds) files. It maps 3DS chunks into a hierarchical set of Python
objects; it's a lot like how ElementTree works for XML files. Dice3DS
requires Python 2.4 or higher, and Numpy. Note that it is not a wrapper
for lib3ds.
Changes: This release uses numpy. However, Numeric should still work if
you change "import numpy" to "import Numeric as numpy". A bug on big
endian machines has been fixed. Nn example module showing how to import
3DS into Blender has been added. The command line tools have been improved
a bit.

About: Cfengine is a tool for setting up and maintaining BSD and
System-5-like operating system optionally attached to a TCP/IP network.
You can think of cfengine as a very high level language, much higher level
than Perl or shell: a single statement can result in many hundreds of
operations being performed on multiple hosts. Cfengine is good at
performing a lot of common system administration tasks, and allows you to
build on its strengths with your own scripts. You can also use it as a
netwide front-end for `cron'.
Changes: This release adds an optional full encryption level for recursive

About: H2 is an SQL database engine written in Java (but also available as
a native binary). JDBC and ODBC APIs are supported. Embedded and server
modes are available. A Web console application is included. Clustering is
supported.
Changes: Online backup using BACKUP TO 'fileName' is now implemented. A
TPC-B like benchmark has been included. The H2 Console is now translated
to Hungarian and Indonesian. UUID columns can be used as generated key
values. It was possible that SUM threw a class cast exception. Several
bugs in the XAConnection have been fixed. If the result set of a subquery
was re-used, an exception was thrown if the subquery result did not fit in
memory. The command "drop all objects delete files" did not work on Linux.
Temporary files are now deleted earlier. Forum subscriptions work now.

by Sam Tregar (http://freshmeat.net/users/sunking/)
Tue, Jan 30th 2007 11:25
Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Dynamic Content :: CGI Tools/Libraries
Software Development :: Libraries
About: The HTML::Template module attempts to make using HTML templates
simple and natural. It extends standard HTML with a few new tags for
variables, loops, if/else blocks and includes. A file written with HTML
and these new tags is called a template. Using this module you fill in the
values for the variables and loops declared in the template. This allows
you to seperate design (the HTML) from the data, which you generate in the
Perl script. While there are many other HTML template systems available,
this module is simple and fast. It doesn't try to reinvent Perl CGI, it
just augments HTML with a few new and very useful abilities.
Changes: A new option was added to enforce Taint mode for unescaped
variables. Several long-standing bugs were fixed. The enhanced tests
produced by the Phalanx project are now part of the module.

that you want to use. IzPack doesn't use any portion of native code, it is
designed to be fully independent from the operating system that runs it.
It is very easy for the end user with a properly installed JVM to use an

Information Management
Information Management :: Workflow Frameworks
Multimedia :: Graphics :: Editors :: Vector-Based
About: mxGraph is a JavaScript library that uses built-in browser
capabilities to provide an interactive drawing and diagramming solution.
Target applications are Web based applications that require workflow/BPM,
diagram, network, or general graph editing to be available in-place on a
Web page.
Changes: The release adds Java and .NET backend examples to the existing
PHP example, including diagram sharing and I/O in the Java example. The
key handler has been changed to not consume all key events for the page;
only key events from the graph container are processed. The automatic tree
layout now positions the layout correctly in the visible area. The in-place
editor position is now wherever the label is, and no longer jumps around. A
"snapshot" action has been added to request that the current back-end
produce and transfer a static image of the current graph.

[036] - PHP mySQL Database Wrapper Class 1.0.8
by Stefan Gabos (http://freshmeat.net/users/stefangabos/)
Tue, Jan 30th 2007 14:25
Software Development :: Libraries :: PHP Classes
About: PHP mySQL Database Wrapper Class provides a set of methods for
interacting with a MySQL database easily and securely. Most of the methods
are extended versions of PHP's native functions, but providing a lot more
functionality and powerful debugging features. There are also new methods
that greatly simplify the process of executing specific queries like
returning specific rows or even single values from specific rows, SUM(),
COUNT(), and MAX() queries.
Changes: A bug when working with queries using replacements, and having
question marks in the replacements has been fixed. You no longer have to
specify anymore the _FILE__ and __LINE__ magic constants; the class now
relies on the debug_backtrace() PHP function to get where the methods are
called from. A new "fetch_obj" method is an alias of MySQL's
mysql_fetch_object function. Warnings of the same query being run multiple
times were incorrectly being displayed.

Internet :: File Transfer Protocol (FTP)
About: UDPCast allows to send data simultaneously to many destinations on
a local net. This can for instance be used to install entire classrooms of
PCs at once. The advantage over using other methods (nfs, ftp, whatever) is
that udpcast uses Ethernet's multicast abilities: it won't take longer to

busybox bootdisk for easy loading of the tool. However, udpcast can also
be started from the command line of an already installed system, and can
be used for other purposes than just system installation.

netscape browsers. Bottom, bottomBorder, top, solid, and ccw fields were
added to SuperEllipsoid. A crash in SuperEllipsoid to NurbsSurface
conversion was fixed. This occurred when the overflow flag of the
selection buffer is set and in DEF name map. Support for files with UTF-8
Byte Order Mark (BOM) was added. The --with-vrml97am1url,
--with-x3ddrafturl, --with-scriptednodes, and --with-covernodes configure
options were replaced with the --with-protobaseurl option.
