by Michael Williamson (http://freshmeat.net/users/mwilliamson/)

Internet :: WWW/HTTP
Office/Business :: Financial
Office/Business :: Financial :: Investment
About: Advanced Stock Tracking System (AST) is a Web-based application for
keeping track of stocks. It features a portfolio with dividend tracking, a
worksheet to keep track of prospects, a stock comparison utility, and a
search engine for the stock market based heavily on technical analysis.
Changes: This release adds the ability to manually correct for splits that
Yahoo does not recognize. It ties together the worksheet and portfolio
through slippage calculations, which allows you to measure how good your
timing is. Users can now enter a custom exchange rate for transactions
instead of using the market rate. There are other bugfixes and
improvements.

Unix variants tested. Most FTP commands are supported, and user
authentication is done via passwd/shadow or PAM. tar/gzip on-the-fly is
supported.
Changes: This release corrects the display of large files in a directory
listing. The documentation concerning xinetd has been updated, and if
bftpd fails to create the temporary file bftpdutmp, an error is written to
the log file.

Changes: The server warns the player if the character needs food. The
weather has been enhanced to provide more varied rain and variable
visibility. Dependency failures are reported much more cleanly. More tool
types are available for sale at the tool merchant. Database functionality
is handled more dynamically, and the server will run when no database is
available. Rubbish around the new character spawn point is cleared up
automatically by NPCs. All cyphesis commands have better help and version
reporting. Many bugs have been fixed.

[009] - Dragon parser generator 1.2.8
by lemke (http://freshmeat.net/users/lemke/)
Sun, May 6th 2007 00:59
Software Development :: Code Generators
About: Dragon is a powerful parser generator. It produces a consequent,
object-oriented, integrated scanner and parser solution. It also scales
for very large grammar defintions. Since dragon parses LR(1) grammars, the
generation algorithm is quite CPU intensive. Using LR(1) instead of LALR
decreases efficiency of the parser, but avoids some reduce/reduce
conflicts in some cases. Dragon provides a very clean and structured way
for the integration of application specific context code. Dragon combines
the lexical and syntactical analysis and the corresponding code
generation.
Changes: Some fixes were made to Java code generation.

Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Dynamic Content :: CGI Tools/Libraries
About: eformmail is a stand-alone CGI program that accepts an HTML form

making it impossible for spammers to take advantage of this email
address. A comprehensive manual is available. eformmail can also validate
fields for validity using regular expressions. Since release 2.0 eformmail
has a spam tram, so fake form submissions can be dismissed immediately. The
proposed email output can be formatted by an XSLT processor.

obviously spam can be dismissed immediately.

Software Development
About: EiffelStudio is an IDE for the Eiffel language (ECMA-367, ISO/IEC
25436, and ACM Software System Award 2006). It includes an Eiffel
compiler, an Eiffel GUI editor, an Eiffel code browsing tool, a diagram
editor with round-trip, a refactoring tool, a debugger, a profiler, and
Eiffel analysis tools (Metrics, Dependencies, etc.). Eiffel generates C or
CLI for .NET or Mono. Eiffel applies O-O principles and Design by Contract
for high-quality software. Many Eiffel libraries are included: ADT,
network, GUI, database, parsing (including an Eiffel parser), XML, Web,
COM, and more.
Changes: EiffelStudio was made more mainstream by providing a contextual
menu in addition to the powerful Pick and Drop mechanism. Support was
added for object creation as part of watch expressions in the debugger.
Theme support on Linux was improved. Various bugs in the debugger and in
the docking were fixed.

[013] - fakechroot 2.6
by Piotr Roszatycki (http://freshmeat.net/users/d3xter/)
Sun, May 6th 2007 07:47
System :: Systems Administration
About: fakechroot provides a fake chroot environment to programs. A fake
chroot allows you to run programs which require root privileges on an
unprivileged user account. For example, you can create a Debian bootstrap
or a development environment and build packages inside a chroot'ed system
using a standard non-root user account. You can then use the apt-get
command to install other packages without root privileges.
Changes: This release includes a new environment variable
FAKECHROOT_EXCLUDE_PATH and fixes for the getcwd(3), readlink(2), and
mktemp(3) functions. The chroot(2) function is now recursive and allows
nested chroots.

post-processing for Nastran or Samcef finite element results. The library
allows easy manipulation of finite element models, groups, and results.
Efficient post-processing is possible because the time-consuming
operations are written in C/C++.
Changes: The laminate load response calculations for loadings with
temperature and moisture contributions have been improved: the
corresponding terms in constitutive equations are no longer taken into
account if temperature and moisture are not defined in the loading. A few
minor bugs were also fixed.

bitrate or length) was improved. The last play date is shown in the item
information. Playback on song change was made faster. You can now
unsubscribe from a podcast. A bug concerning skip count in floola was

About: gcin (Gtk Chinese INput application in X) is a Chinese input method
server for Big5 Traditional Chinese character sets. It features a GTK user
interface. It is a very popular Chinese input method (IM) server in
Taiwan, which focuses mainly on Traditional Chinese. Its IM table format

is often straightforward for users to append other input tables not
originally included in the release package, or tables used by other IMs
such as scim.
Changes: More input methods and some fancy icons have been added, and the

System :: Logging
About: log4sh is a logging framework for shell scripts that works similar
to the other wonderful logging products available from the Apache Software
Foundataion (eg. log4j, log4perl). Although not as powerful as the others,
it can make the task of adding advanced logging to shell scripts easier,
and has much more power than just using simple "echo" commands throughout.
In addition, it can be configured from a properties file so that scripts in
a production environment do not need to be altered to change the amount of
logging they produce.

Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Browsers
Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Indexing/Search
About: SRESI is a smart bookmark manager. It currently sports both a

exports besides. Directories and tags are used equivalently, and the final
hierarchies are inferred from actual tag use.
