Adaptive Technologies
Software Development
Software Development :: Libraries :: Application Frameworks

About: The Azuki Framework is a Java application framework designed to
resolve various problems in the software development lifecycle. These
goals are achieved by splitting the software conception into two main
stages: creation of independent components and definition of component
dependencies (weaving). The latter is performed with a graphical tool
named "the weaver". By representing component interactions using different
perspectives, the weaver provides a straightforward way to analyze an
application's architecture, allowing deep and easy customization of its
behavior.

Changes: This release adds a new module for Apache CXF.

About: Clam AntiVirus is an anti-virus toolkit designed especially for
email scanning on mail gateways. It provides a number of utilities,
including a flexible and scalable multi-threaded daemon, a commandline
scanner, and a tool for automatic database updates. The core of the
package is an anti-virus engine available as a shared library.

Changes: This release provides various bugfixes, optimisations, and
improvements to the scanning engine. New features include support for ARJ
and SFX-ARJ archives, a basic SPF parser in clamav-milter (to reduce
phishing false positives), faster scanning, and others. To get consistent
behaviour of the anti-phishing module on all platforms, libclamav now
includes the regex library from OpenBSD.

[009] - DBIx::Perlish 0.29
  by Grrrr (http://freshmeat.net/users/Grrrr/)
  Tue, Oct 9th 2007 10:08

About: The DBIx::Perlish module provides the ability to work with
databases supported by the DBI module using Perl's own syntax for the four
most common operations: SELECT, UPDATE, DELETE, and INSERT. By using
DBIx::Perlish, you can write most of your database queries using a
domain-specific language with Perl syntax. However, the module is not
intended to replace all use of SQL in your program. The DBIx::Perlish
module quite intentionally neither implements nor cares about database
administration tasks like schema design and management.

Changes: Aliased constants are allowed in return statements.

  Tue, Oct 9th 2007 03:35

Software Development :: Libraries

About: libmemcached is a C client library for interfacing to a memcached
server. It has been designed to be light on memory usage, thread safe and
to provide full access to server side methods. It also implements several
command line tools: memcat, memflush, memrm, memstat, and memslap (for
load generation).

Changes: An option for TCP_NODELAY was added and memslap was updated to
allow testing of TCP_NODELAY. A support script for set_benchmark was
included. memslap was also updated to support --flush, which dumps
memcache servers before testing. A bug with multiple hosts not being
activated was fixed. A MEMCACHED_SERVERS environmental variable was added,
which can be used to set the servers list. The memcached_stat method was
fixed, and memstat now works. Server connect now happens on demand. Help
was added for all command line applications. An MD5 hash method was added.

Poet.

Changes: This release was updated for Tcl/Tk 8.4.16 and 8.5b1. Significant
changes were made to the C code to support the Great (Internal) Var Reform
of '07. A few missing Tk widgets were added. Numerous bugs were fixed.

corrected. MIDI editing has been improved, including step-moving with
keyboard arrow keys, auto-extendable clips, most edits are now effective
immediately on playback, and new eye-candy options like note, velocity
coloring, and duration. New snap divisors, supporting triplets. A new MIDI
metronome with channel, bar/beat accent note, and duration parameters.
Better monitoring meters update precision. Increased responsiveness of the
MP3 audio clip editing. An auto-sized track properties dialog. Summary
report and proper qmake location on configure.

About: SystemRescueCd is a Linux system available from a bootable CDROM
that provides an easy way to perform administrative tasks on your
computer, such as creating and editing the partitions of the hard disk or
backing up data. It contains a lot of system utilities (such as parted,

This CDROM aims to be very easy to use and accessible to everybody, and it
also provides advanced personalization features.

Changes: This version introduces major new features. Now SystemRescueCd
supports SPARC and amd64 as well as x86. The 64-bit kernel allows you to
chroot on a 64-bit Linux. It's also possible to boot off the network via
PXE. The "Offline NT Password & Registry Editor" floppy disk was updated
and supports Vista. An alternative kernel (vmlinuz2) was added to solve
boot problems and hardware compatibilities issues. A partimage-ssl client

[041] - Tagsistant 0.0.20071009
  by Tx0 (http://freshmeat.net/users/tx0/)
  Tue, Oct 9th 2007 09:27

Desktop Environment :: File Managers
Information Management :: Metadata/Semantic Models
System :: Filesystems

About: Tagsistant is a semantic filesystem for Linux and BSD kernels. It
uses directories as tags and allows file tagging by simply putting files
inside desired tag directories. The path you are walking by is your query,
e.g. tagsistant/tag1/AND/tag2/OR/tag3/AND/tag2/. Being a low level
interface, a filesystem can be instantly used by shell users, file
managers, or CGI. A plug-in architecture is under development to add
autotagging functionality for common files like .mp3, .ogg, .jpeg, .html,
and .xml. A transparent ontology engine is also planned to allow users
create a relationship schema between directories by moving one inside the
other.

Changes: A bug in tagsistant_rename was fixed. Both directories and files
can now be renamed properly.
