[001] - .NET Calendar Control 1.1-1-06
  by Kasreyn (http://freshmeat.net/users/Kasreyn/)
  Fri, Dec 5th 2008 19:09

Multimedia :: Graphics :: Presentation

About: .NET Calendar Control is a control similar to
Windows.Forms.MonthCalendar, but it adds support for multi-select. It
provides a point and click interface for selecting holidays or special
days. It previously extended MonthCalendar, but now it has a fixed size in
all regions and handles all drawing internally. The assembly contains
several small controls for building calendar interfaces. These parts are
independent of each other, and are constructed with inheritance in mind.

[002] - Affiliates for All 1.1.2
  by Pete Chown (http://freshmeat.net/users/pchown/)
  Fri, Dec 5th 2008 07:41

Internet :: WWW/HTTP :: Dynamic Content
Office/Business

About: Affiliates For All is an affiliate management system written for
the Magento shopping cart. It will track the amount of money you owe your
affiliates and makes payment simple. Your affiliates will also be able to
register online, change their details, and see sales statistics.

Changes: This release makes installation simpler. The dependency on PHP's
xmlrpc module has also been removed, as many people with shared hosting
were finding that this was unavailable. The manual has been updated and now
documents all the features of Affiliates for All, including banner serving.
There is also a minor bugfix.

[003] - Amahi Linux Home Server 9.6 (Development)
  by cpg (http://freshmeat.net/users/cpg/)
  Fri, Dec 5th 2008 19:43

Information Management
Software Development :: Libraries :: Ruby Modules
System :: Operating System :: Linux Distributions

About: The Amahi Home Server is a Linux Home Server based on Fedora (and
later on Ubuntu). Your machine becomes a "Home Digital Assistant" or HDA
after the installation. Each HDA is a Fedora-based server targeted for home
and home office environments. It provides an iTunes server, calendaring, a
wiki, shared network storage, network backups, a printer server, VPN, and a
plug-in architecture built on Ruby on Rails.

Changes: This release introduces a fix to avoid a somewhat serious
(non-security) issue with Samba upgrades. Some users that updated their
Amahi Fedora 9 system by hand encountered a subtle issue with legacy Samba
files that effectively made their (Samba-only) users vanish. This fix
avoids that issue for users who upgrade going forward. A fix for existing
users will be announced later. This has been reported to Fedora Samba
maintainers.

[005] - Backtrace Library 1.0.2
  by Tim Gurney (http://freshmeat.net/users/offswn/)
  Fri, Dec 5th 2008 19:20

Software Development :: Libraries

About: Backtrace is a C library that replicates the bt functionality from
gdb. This can be used on code as it is developed and on live code, to allow
function stack tracing without having to run under gdb.

Changes: The code has been cleaned up, with the introduction of some new
macros and a short wrapper function.

Software Development :: Version Control

About: Bazaar is a simple decentralized revision control system.
Decentralized revision control systems give users the ability to branch
remote repositories to a local context. Users can commit to local branches
without requiring special permission from the branches that they branched
from.

Changes: This release has several performance improvements for copying
revisions (especially for small updates to large projects). There has also
been a significant amount of effort in polishing stacked branches. The
commands 'shelve' and 'unshelve' have become core commands, with an
improved implementation.

[007] - Bitvector Library 1.0.1
  by Tim Gurney (http://freshmeat.net/users/offswn/)
  Fri, Dec 5th 2008 19:20

Software Development :: Libraries

About: Bitvector is a C library that allows you to use strings rather than
ints for internal flags. On many platforms, ints are limited to 32 bits and
are thus limited to 32 flags available for a given flag variable. Bitvector
uses a resizing char array for flags, allowing much greater flexibility for
flag management.

Changes: This new release sees the addition of logging (on error) within
the library. The logging feature relies on the logfile library. Logging can
be disabled using ./configure --disable_logging. For features related to
logging (such as logging to console or zero output logging), see the
logfile library.

System :: Monitoring

About: Check updates is a Nagios monitoring system plugin to check if an
RPM-based system (Red Hat, Fedora, or CentOS) is up to date.

Changes: This release implements a timeout (as required by the Nagios
Plugin guidelines) and removes the dependency on RPM2 (which does not work
with modern RPM versions).

[009] - CScout 2.6
  by Diomidis Spinellis (http://freshmeat.net/users/diomidis/)
  Fri, Dec 5th 2008 19:36

Software Development :: Quality Assurance
Software Development :: Refactoring

About: CScout is a source code analyzer and refactoring browser for
collections of C programs. It can process workspaces of multiple projects,
mapping the complexity introduced by the C preprocessor back into the
original C source code files. CScout performs an analysis of C source code
that is more detailed and accurate than current compilers and linkers, as
it takes into account the identifier scopes introduced by the C
preprocessor and the C language proper scopes and namespaces.

Changes: This version adds support for the display of graph files in PDF
and PNG format, as well as options for specifying graph, node, and edge
properties to dot. In addition, the workspace compiler now deals correctly
with scoped definitions for files, and yacc terminal symbols can be unified
with the corresponding y.tab.h macros. Finally, this version corrects
extraneous line spacing in source code listings of files containing
carriage returns, fixes the display of graphs with empty nodes, and
corrects the handling of identifiers declaring a function at an inner scope
with no storage-class specifier.

About: Deliantra is an advancement of the crossfire multi-user RPG game.
Unlike the original project, it focuses mainly on stability and
playability, but also adds modern technology such as map scripting, Perl
server extensions, asynchronous I/O, higher resolution graphics, and better
client support.

Changes: The main city of Scorn has been redesigned completely. The light
system has been rewritten and bugfixed. A bug with black worldmaps which
occasionally appeared has been fixed. Items that shops aren't interested in
anymore are given back and don't vanish anymore. The long-standing bug with
the broken anvil converters in the shops have been fixed. On top of these
major bugfixes, many smaller bugfixes, performance enhancements, and memory
leak fixes were done.

dvd-menu makes a top-level DVD menu with the output files from
dvd-slideshow. dir2slideshow makes a dvd-slideshow input file from a
directory of pictures. gallery2slideshow makes the input file from your
Gallery album. jigl2slideshow makes the input file from your jigl album.
The output is fed through dvdauthor to create DVDs.

[020] - gWaei 0.10.0
  by Zachary Dovel (http://freshmeat.net/users/pizzach2/)
  Fri, Dec 5th 2008 19:50

Education

About: gWaei is a Japanese-English dictionary program for the GNOME
desktop. It is made to be a modern drop-in replacement for Gjiten, with
many of the same features. The dictionary files it uses are from Jim
Breen's WWWJDIC project and are installed separately through the program.
It features easy dictionary installation, support for searching using
regular expressions, streaming of results so the interface is never frozen,
and a simple interface that makes sense.

Changes: Many usability tweaks and bugfixes went into this release. The
goal was to make the results more readable. Under the hood, the build
system has been massively revamped. The names it spits out are much more
standard, and the program actually creates the RPMs from scratch instead of
converting debs. Gconf schema installation is now done during installation
instead of on the first run. This is part of the reason for redoing the
install procedure and creating true RPMs.

Multimedia :: Sound/Audio :: Conversion
Multimedia :: Video :: Conversion

About: mkvtoolnix is a set of tools that allow users to display
information about, extract streams from, merge several streams into, and
split Matroska media files. Supported video stream types include streams
from AVIs, Ogg/OGM, RealVideo, MP4 files, and MPEG program streams as well
as verious elementary streams (h264/AVC, MPEG1/2, VC1, Dirac). Supported
audio formats include AAC, (E)AC3, DTS/DTS-HD, FLAC, MP2, MP3, RealAudio,
and Vorbis. Several subtitle formats are supported, including SRT, SSA,
ASS, VobSub, and many others.

Changes: The timecode handling during appending files has been fixed so
that audio/video sync issues should not occur anymore. mkvmerge is much
more tolerant regarding the format of timecodes in SRT files, has an
updated list of ISO-639-2 language codes, and processes WAV files bigger
than 8 GB correctly. mkvmerge can now handle SRT/SSA subtitles in AVI
files. mmg processes redraw events much more often during muxing, and
allows short timecodes to be entered for splitting.

[031] - ngspice rework-18
  by p.nenzi (http://freshmeat.net/users/pnenzi/)
  Fri, Dec 5th 2008 19:17

Scientific/Engineering :: Electronic Design Automation (EDA)

About: Ngspice is a mixed-level/mixed-signal circuit simulator based on
three open source software packages: Spice3f5, Cider1b1, and Xspice. Spice3
is the most famous and widely used circuit simulator. Cider is mixed-level
simulator that includes Spice3f5 and adds DSIM, a device simulator. Cider
couples the circuit level simulator to the device simulator to provide
greater simulation accuracy (at the expense of greater simulation time).
Xspice is an extension to Spice3 that provides code modeling support and
simulation of digital components through an embedded event driven
algorithm.

Changes: The Tclspice simulator library has been merged with ngspice. New
options have been introduced: brief, listing, autostop, and scale. Support
for .lib files has been introduced. .measure statements: avg, integ, rms,
max, min, delay, and param. .global statement support. .func macros for
inlining functions into netlists. The numparam library has been improved to
support fully parametrized netlists. BSIM model binning. New multi-input
gate VCVS using XSPICE extensions.

[032] - p300 1011
  by Markus Goetz (http://freshmeat.net/users/guruz/)
  Fri, Dec 5th 2008 07:49

Communications :: File Sharing

About: p300 is a P2P application that allows you to share directories with
other computers on a LAN or VPN. Other hosts running p300 are automatically
discovered using IP Multicast. Bandwidth limiting is supported. You can
configure which hosts may access your shared directories. You can use an
integrated browser and download manager to download files from other p300
programs on your network, or use your Web browser. You can also use WebDAV
to mount the directories from other computers. A search function and an
integrated chat (instant messenger) are available.

Changes: A bug in the auto updater was fixed. A manual download of this
release is needed. It is now easier to allow other p300 hosts. A bug with
sharing a complete drive in Windows was fixed. Some smaller fixes and
enhancements were made.

[033] - Paludis 0.32.2
  by Ciaran McCreesh (http://freshmeat.net/users/ciaranm/)
  Fri, Dec 5th 2008 21:52

System :: Software Distribution
System :: Software Distribution Tools

About: Paludis is a package management library that works with Gentoo
style ebuilds, together with a simple console client. It is entirely
independent of Portage.

Changes: This release fixes various compiler issues.
ERepository::package_names (and by extension, paludis --list-packages) are
now quite a bit faster, but may list package names whose package
directories include no versions. DEFINED_PHASES is now used and supported
(but not used for 0-based EAPIs with pre-generated cache, since a cache
line has yet to be standardized). As a result, ebuild hooks for phases that
aren't used will not necessarily be triggered.

Multimedia
Multimedia :: Video

About: PyMei is a Python media center application. It's designed to run as
a full screen application on an HTPC, navigated by a keyboard or an LIRC
input device. It plays videos or shows other types of media using external
programs like mplayer. With its plugin support and themeability, it's
aiming to be a very extensible and customizable media interface.

Changes: Numerous fixes were made to the embedded mplayer. This should
solve all issues related to "separate_window: False". New widgets were
added to facilitate the new XKCD plugin (which is highly undocumented).
Fonts are now bundled. A debug server was added, which gives a Python
console via telnet with access to pymei.
