One good reason not to use SPIKE on a VMware box is that VMWare and
SPIKE both consume huge amounts of memory. SPIKE in particular has this
bad habit of allocating a meg of space at a time for certain strings.
Win32's architecture can't handle this, so SPIKE won't work even under
cygwin, though it will compile.
I should add this to the non-existant FAQ. :>
Also, I like to look at CPU and memory usage while I spike to see how
far into the program I'm actually getting. Memory leaks are actual
useful when exploiting a program....:>
