Hi ! We have auth running for our passwd database but we try to set up xdm since it makes no sense hiding the encrypted passwords when everybody with an account can monitor the plaintext ones via X. Anyone got some experience or pointers an how to modify xdm and what risks are involved ? Anyway, is auth itself a good choice ? Are there any flaws in it which make it worse than distributing /etc/passwd (by 'hand', not via NIS) ? Many thanks for your help, Walter zimmercis.umassd.edu >> "In case of fire break cover and operate switch" - Sign in the Boston T "Makes no sense to me... anyway, what's a fire break ?" - Stupid man <<
