Wether Zoid is an employee or not, this product was done purely for public benefit and testing of a new networking paradigm (which was used at least partially in Quake2). In general id is very open about things though (letting people port their games, releasing source to games), and I think that these sorts of issues would get fixed straight away by the id-faithful were they to release these sections of code. They might be surprised at the level of support their legacy code sees if they open it up sooner rather than later. Wether this makes business sense to them is another story... Just a thought- -Mike
