sorry if it is a known thing...

running the following command on a quake1 server's ip address

# nmap -sU -p 26000 xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

in most cases will "crash" the quake1 server program.
attempts to connect to or query it with qstat will result in "no
response" message.

# nmap --version --> nmap V. 2.3BETA14

quake2 or quake3 servers were not tested
