    It is possible to log in to the unit using TELNET. The password is
    'private'.
    To change the password, the following info was supplied by D-link tech
    support:

    You can change the telnet password by using snmp access write function
    on the DSL-500/504.

    Under console prompt:

    192.168.0.1> snmp access write <password>
    192.168.0.1> config save
    192.168.0.1> restart

    snmp access syntax:
    snmp access [read | write] <community>
    - allow read-only or read-write access
    snmp access delete <community>
    - revoke specified access
    snmp access flush
    - revoke all access
    snmp access list - list allowed access
