I'm not a CISSP (yet) but wanted to add some other
recommendations for reading/reviewing. I took the
ISC2 class recently and tested last week (so I'm
crossing my fingers & holding my breath for a couple
weeks).
I found the class was pretty helpful as far as a
review of terminology, and some of the standards go.
But you have to remember it's a REVIEW class. You
should be familiar with concepts outlined in the ISC2
reveiw guide prior to the class. Expect to have lots
of terminology, theory, and concepts thrown at you.
Lots of information to digest, but an excellent
preperatory step for the exam.
The Tipton & Krause book was an excellent review and
although not extremely deep on any of the topics, it
still was helpful. I was fortunate enough to have
access to both of the last two editions to read.
IMHO, the SRV books weren't that helpful (they had
_some_ good material). I found that they often
conflicted with information being taught in the class
(and information presented in other chapters). Do not
base your ENTIRE preparation around them.
Phil Fites' book is very good too(if you can find a
copy of it as it's out of print). Think the title is
Information Security Practicioner's Reference.
Also, I would strongly encourage those who are not
familiar with physical security to read through the
NIST standard on physical security. I personally was
weak in this area & couldn't find enough material to
reveiw.
Lastly, a friend sent me this website which looks to
be pretty helpful.

Just my $.02 on preparing for the exam. GOOD LUCK!!
