    Hmmm... we really need a FAQ, and the how-to for obtaining the Fites book is
    a prime candidate for inclusion in such.

    I mailed him a while back re. the book, and here is what he had to say:

    <quote>

    Not quite, I only distribute a PostScript file. And unfortunately, I have
    no provisions for electronic payment (or plastic; I'm not actually a
    retailer.) It may be possible for you to transfer money electronically to
    one of my bank accounts, but unless you have an account at a Canadian bank
    it's quite likely more trouble and cost than simply mailing a check. A
    check or money order is fine.

    <snip>

    Here's the "standard blurb":
    ____________________________________________________
    The book is out of print, but I have been sending people a PostScript file
    that will let them print the book themselves. You need to be able to
    receive a 3-MB or so e-mail attachment, and to have access to a printer that
    understands PostScript. You unzip the file to a large PostScript file
    (about 23MB) and a little one, then send the files to the printer. (The
    little one prints a single correction page.)

    Some people have had success using GSView or other PostScript viewers and
    printing to whatever printer is attached to their system. I don't recommend
    for or against this as I have no knowledge of what printer may be involved
    and the resulting quality of output.

    If this is OK with you, send me US$15 per copy you want to print, and I'll
    e-mail the file. Snail mail:

    Whatever you decide, thanks for your interest!

    He can be reached by e:mail at: fites@sympatico.ca

    Good luck!

    Cheers

    hm. was impossible to find anything about Philip Fites, but looks like
    Martin P.J. Kratz works now for a legal buffet called Bennett Jones LLP.

    more info available at http://www.lexpert.ca/firms/bennett.html - and btw,
    if someone talks to Mr. Kratz and finds out how can anyone interested get a
    copy of his and Fites book, please let me know (better yet, post the how-to
    to this list).
