For now, I can only point you to the World Trade Organization/GATT website
where there is an e-commerce section with several lists
that might be interesting to you.

As soon as I have some other links I'll post them...

    Hello All,

First off, allow me to thank every last one of you for ALL of your postings.
I have lurked on these lists for the last couple of years just absorbing
as much information as I could. You all have done such a wonderful job
in keeping the flow on information consistant and high quality.

I have a question, has anyone done an analysis or can anyone direct me to
some resources that would help me to summarize the legality surrounding
a US based B2B site accepting transactions and sending transactions to
    european
    countries.

What are the storage requirements? (can I store the data on servers in the
    U.S.?)
Must I become BS 7799/ISO17799 certified?
What about transactions destined to U.S. embargoed or non-favored nations
originating from the EU or ASIA?
Also, how would I protect the data from beng subpoenad by the U.S.
    government?

I know this is a mouthful, I'm hoping that someone has done the analysis
already. If the study hasn't been done but people know the resources, point
me to them and I'll be sure to post the final product to all three groups.

Once again, You ALL have been a godsend, with a dozen or so years of IT
experience, I have yet to find a group of people, with a common goal, so
    determined to share information.

    Awaiting your response, I remain
