A hobby of mine is writing (well OK then, trying to) film screenplays. I have
looked at 'writing schools' and never bothered with them. Writing a screenplay
concentrates the mind on writing words that convey more than the words themselves i.e.
the atmosphere (although that is also down to good direction, camera work etc.) of a film.
Such skills, as others have pointed out, do really help when it comes to technical
writing.
You often have to write with the 'user' or PHB in mind.
Just my 2 Euro's worth (not many people from Europe on the list is there?)
Cheers
Simon
