It probably doesn't help you to know that the only protocol stack that
actually maps one-to-one to the OSI model is the OSI protocol stack.
TCP/IP, especially with the advent of SSL and IPsec, just don't fit
that model very well.
Having said that, the functions that IPsec provides would seem to
place it at layer 3, and SSL is anywhere from 4 to 7 depending on
which protocol it's being used in conjunction with.
