The Passing score is 70% and not 75%. The following points may clarify certain things about the way a passing score is determined.

a)Many different sets of examiantion papers will be administered to candidates at the same location.

    b) There are 25 questions which are included for evaluation
purposes for which a candidate is not graded.

    c) Each question is weighed differently. This means that some questions may carry more than 1 mark (or is it 2 or 3 or 4?). Since 225 questions are evaluated for 1000 marks, I would think it could be 2 or 3 or even 4 and more for some questions.

    d) A passing score is 700 on 1000 i.e., 70%. This is not an absolute score but a graded score. I have no idea as to how it is moderated.

    e) There are no negative marks.

    f) There are no fixed percentage of questions coming from each domain. ie., it is not 10% for each of the 10 domains or so. I am told the percentage varies and for the various sets administered.

    I hope this should help.

Best wishes for your examination and Happy New Year!

    Cheers!

The questions are supposedly weighted differently. The 250 questions (minus
the 25) add up to 1000 points. A passing score is 750. I was told by a ISC
instructor one could completely fail a domain and still pass, if that is of
any help. That is about all I was told on test scoring.

    Good Luck!!!!

    Greetings,
What is the passing score for the CISSP exam? Out of the 225 question when
you exclude the trial ones, how much of those do you need to get right to
    pass the exam?

    Thanks
