It shouldn't be at all surprising.
Encryption algorithms are specifically designed to be highly sensitive
to initial conditions.. Ideally, toggling a single input bit will
result in, on average, half the output bits changing in value...
So, it's likely that any minor error along the way will be magnified
by the structure of the algorithm.
