Good Morning, Evening, Tuesday, etc...

        I had an interesting help mail come in two days ago regarding the
remailers at zedz and anonymizer - the user was unable to "get them to
work" and wanted to know if they were "using the wrong browser interface"
<they use Netscape rather than IE and thought this may have been
responsible>.

        Long and short of it is that we couldn't "get them to work
either".

The zedz remailer always produces two errors:
(1) "Requested URL /cgi-bin/anon.exe was not found on this server"
(2) "Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to
use an ErrorDocument to handle the request"

Until this morning, the Anonymizer would give an error
"Internal error or misconfiguration".

We reported these problems yesterday to the respective admins, and aside
from an autoresponder from anonymizer, have heard nothing, however,
anonymizer now appears to be off-line (we can't reach it - can one of
you?) - zedz is unchanged.

So what you ask? Well, if you're a good old paranoid little shit like me,
you start to ask yourself how it is that two of these remailers seem to
have the same problem at the same time. Of course, being me, you then
realize that this is not something I have a lot of personal expertise in,
and you take it to the masses for a little Q&A - and, bingo: you have this
little questioning missive to the cypherfamily ;-)

Are we the only ones seeing these problems?

If Governments really want us to behave like civilized human beings, they
should give serious consideration towards setting a better example:
Ruling by force, rather than consensus; the unrestrained application of
unjust laws (which the victim-populations were never allowed input on in
the first place); the State policy of justice only for the rich and 
elected; the intentional abuse and occassionally destruction of entire
populations merely to distract an already apathetic and numb electorate...
This type of demogoguery must surely wipe out the fascist United States
as surely as it wiped out the fascist Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.
