Not to mention that those of us (Dave included) that read this (and other)
lists via a mail-to-news relay have the *relay* subscribed to the
list (instead of the bunch of individuals at, say, UC Berkeley), yet
posts come directly from the end users. If you turn off postings
from non-subscribers, you need to have an "exceptions" list, which
contains acceptable addresses for posters who are *not* subscribed.
