Feb. 15 - KGO - City College of San Francisco Chancellor Dr. Philip
R. Day sent a letter to current and former students warning them that
a file with their personal information was potentially viewable via
According to the letter, the file contained "names, addresses and
social security numbers," but did not include "any driver's license
numbers, credit card or banking information."
The file in question was used in 2000 for providing students that
attended in summer 1999 their grades. Since June 2002, the college
stopped using social security numbers as unique identifiers for
students and switched to student identification numbers.
