A breach of the accounting computer systems at UNC-Greensboro may have exposed
personal employee information to intruders, according to an announcement from
the school.

All faculty, staff and student employees have been notified of the breach and
advised to check their direct deposit accounts to verify that no unauthorized
activity has taken place, the announcement said.

"We believe the risk to actual data is low, but we can't take chances," said
Reade Taylor, vice chancellor for business affairs. "We are notifying people
about the situation, whether there is a risk or not."
