COLUMBUS, Ohio - The personal information of several Columbus City School
employees might have been compromised after police found the information
during an unrelated arrest.

NBC 4's Ana Jackson GOT ANSWERS and found out this incident might not have
been the district’s first security breach.

The arrests of Carl Lowe and John Lent on outstanding felony warrants led
police to a home in the 2000 block of East 6th Avenue last Thursday.

Officers found counterfeit checks, stolen mail, and the names and Social
Security numbers of Columbus City School employees.

Detectives said they believe Lowe and Lent were up to no good.

"Someone has opened up credit cards and checking accounts and rented
vehicles and stayed in motels," CPD Detective Ronald Reese said.

Reese said the 80 to 100 victims were enrolled in an annuity plan and the
suspects intercepted a mailing from the district containing the sensitive
information.
