The Forest Grove Police Department is investigating the theft of a
University-owned laptop from a staff member's residence that occurred on
Thursday, March 26, 2009. The University was made aware of the theft on
March 26, 2009.
The computer contained names and some personal information. It does not
appear that any social security numbers were stored on the system.
There is no evidence at this time of identity theft. However, because the
potential for identity theft exists, Pacific University is encouraging all
faculty staff and students to take proper precautions and monitor their
personal information and accounts.
