BEAVERTON, Ore. -- Residents at an apartment complex blamed apartment
management Monday for leaving their personal information out in the open.
James Linville, who lives at the Spencer House Apartment Complex in
Beaverton, said he became enraged after finding the private documents in
a recycle bin last week. He said there's major potential for identity
theft because of the documents being dumped in the bin.
"You think that they might realize that this is not the right thing to
do," Linville said.
He and his wife said they found the piles of papers in an unlocked
public container that was sitting off a side street in their apartment
complex.
Neighbors said they took photos of the documents as soon as they found
them. They said the documents included Social Security numbers,
addresses, phone numbers, immigration numbers and names.
