The Social Security numbers and other personal information of nearly 900
people who were banned from public housing in Hampton were accidentally
given to a resident who requested the information.
Hampton Redevelopment and Housing Authority Executive Director Frank
Lofurno said the information was inadvertently given to someone who
requested a list of those banned by police from living in public housing,
usually because of criminal activity.
While the list of names is public information, Lofurno said a clerical
error allowed the personal information to be included.
