    All

has anyone been successful in getting the orinoco driver in recent kernels to
work with a dlink card and pci<->pcmcia adapter? (DWL 500 and DWL 650)

The wvlan_cs driver sort of works (though has problems often, and doesnt seem
to work as well in more recent 2.4 (this is 2.4.5-ac22) kernels (worked better
    in earlier 2.4 kernels)

Not that that is an issue as I want to run david's driver as it seems to be a
lot better now days. (and works perfectly in my powerbook so hey)

WHen I load the wvlan_cs and it decides it feels like working I get

    wvlan_cs: WaveLAN/IEEE PCMCIA driver v1.0.6
    wvlan_cs: (c) Andreas Neuhaus <andyfasta.fh-dortmund.de>
    wvlan_cs: index 0x01: Vcc 3.3, irq 12, io 0x0100-0x013f
    wvlan_cs: Registered netdevice eth2
    wvlan_cs: MAC address on eth2 is 00 40 05 de 81 f1
wvlan_cs: This is LinkSys/D-Link card, not a Wavelan IEEE card :-(
You may want report firmare revision (0x7) and what the card support.
I will try to make it work, but you should look for a better driver.
    wvlan_cs: Found firmware 0x7 (vendor 6) - Firmware capabilities : 1-0-0-0-1

however when I modprobe the orinoco or the orinoco_cs all I get is

    hermes.c: 12 Dec 2000 David Gibson <hermesgibson.dropbear.id.au>
    orinoco.c 0.06c (David Gibson <hermesgibson.dropbear.id.au> and others)

    or

those two lines and another two

dldwd: David's Less Dodgy WaveLAN/IEEE Driver
    orinoco_cs.c 0.06 (David Gibson <hermesgibson.dropbear.id.au> and others)

    when I try _cs

anyay the cardbus adapter is there

    [23:23:48] 145 groki root ~>lspci | grep -i cardbus
00:09.0 CardBus bridge: Ricoh Co Ltd RL5c475 (rev 80)

(and I can get the wvlan_Cs to do wireless stuff so hey)

anyone know if it is possible to get the driver to work with these cards and
    adapters?

            See You
                Steve
