    Hi,

I've pretty much decided to buy a linksys base station, from what I've read
adding an external antenna will be no problem once i get a RP-TNC -> N-type
pigtail. Does anyone know what the output of this device is and whether it
will work ok with an 8db omni plugged into it?

Now back to the topic, I'm after cheap 11mbit cards (upto $150US ready to
run in a pc - ie including a pci/isa/usb adapter). From what I've seen none
of the cheaper cards support external antennas - SMC, D-Link, Linksys etc.
Does anyone know of one which does? One possibility ive looked at is the
Orinoco Silver USB client, its well priced but I can't find any information
about whether it has a port for an external antenna. These cards when I get
them will be using 18db directional antennas and need to connect to the
    linksys ap.

Also, and is it possible to have a say 5-10m usb cable? That way I could
minimise the amount of coax connecting the antenna to the usb device by
moving the usb device much closer.\

    Thanks for any help,
    Michael Cleaver
