    I understand it's common practice to use 'type-N' coax connectors or like
    components at the end of the antenna and at the end of the
    transmitter/receiver.
    if you only need one antenna, why not solder it?
    do you lose db if you skip the connector? compared to the about 1 db you
    lose from typical type-n connectors.
    At $8-9 for one set of connectors, I am not sure it's worth the hassle, plus
    i cannot find a electronic store near me that carries anything but RG/58
    connectors.
    what has been your feelings about the need for these parts?
