attached mail follows:
Hello,
I (unfortunatly?) bought wlanproducts i-gate 11M from siemens.ch and I found
there a link to the linux-wlan project where they make hope for
linux-wlan-(ng?)-driver.
Unfortunatly nothing is found in the linux-wlan-ng docs how to deal with the so
called i-Gate 11M PCI.
The 11M PCI consists of two portions: the 11M PCMCIA-PC-Card based on the
prism(?2) chip AND a so called PCMCIA-to-PCI Adapter based on the plx PCI9052
chip, which is in fact a PCI-to-ISA bridge. The pcmcia-cs says in the docs that
this is NOT a PCI-to-PCMCIA bridge and it is not supported.
So NO support in pcmcia-cs NO support by the linux-wlan-ng?
Is there a workaround? Perhaps I buy a real PCI-to-PCMCIA-bridge -supported by
pcmcia-cs- from Elan and then put the i-gate PCMCIA PC-Card in it. Does it work
then?
Does anybody have any experience with the i-gate 11M PCMCIA PC-Card product
anyway? Does it work with standard linux-wan-ng drivers in a
standard-PCMCIA-laptop-drive?
Any help to the topic is highly appreciated.
Thank You
Rainer Seck
